I have never heard of this show before. I loved seeing the Mel Blanc routine. It was hilarious. He's using his real first and middle name, Melvin Jerome.

I'm so sad to find out that Angel , Annie Farge died on March 4, 2011 . I was hoping it was not true but i guess it is . I really liked her and her great Angel show along with the rest of the cast , Such a great Funny Show and to think It only ran for one season . I was close to 3 years old when this show aired on CBS , Tears are starting to come down my face right now as I'm Sharing this Message to all her other Angel fans , Now Annie Farge is a real Angel , Rest in Peace Annie , love ya,

My dad liked to joke about the famous Desilu script logo animation (not on here-though filmed at Desilu, it's a CBS Films show) "The show ain't over until Desi signs the check-and here he goes!"

Roy Rowan is the series' announcer; Mae Questel is the voice of the "dust cloth" in the Pledge commercial; Art Gilmore is the announcer for the Off! spot. The reminder to watch "THE DANNY THOMAS SHOW" at the end was a "sponsor's tag" for General Foods, who sponsored Danny on CBS from 1957 through '64.

This series was sponsored by General Foods [Post cereals, Maxwell House, Gravy Train, etc.] and, on alternate weeks, S.C. Johnson {Johnson's Wax}, the makers of Raid, Pledge, Off!, et. al. This episode is actually a summer rebroadcast from June 21, 1961 {Raid and Off! weren't sold during the fall and winter}.

I pretty much remember all the sitcoms from that era. But this one here doesn't strike a chord anywhere. I don't ever remember this here 'Angel' growing up. Did it not only last one season perhaps ?

I thought "Angel" was hysterical -- and then it was canceled -- just like "The Hathaways" and "The Bells." Some of the funniest comedies to me just did not win over the general public.

@WSenator1 You are missing the point. That's not what he is referring to. He meant (if you watch entire interview) is get past it. He said same in another interview, it was a play on words. We all have to live on this planet, so just accept it. There are bigger things to worry about. On KZbin there will ALWAYS be someone there to put down any positive comment, and I have wasted too much time here, later

I'm so tired of Political Correctness. Part of being an American is a right to express Free Thought without fear of being called racist. The knee-jerk reaction to play the race card every 10 minuets even though the person just disagrees or has another point of view on a subject, has caused many who are weak in supporting their point of view, to play that tired race card or just try to shout a person down & think they have won. I try to follow that naive Golden Rule thing. Oh yeah, I Like Angel !

@mmarjisr right on dude, dude right on I accidentally discovered this looking for a Lucy episode, shame it only stayed on from October 6 ,1960 to June 14 , 1961 , it was a truly great, show with a truly, great actress, whom I hope found much success back in her own country when, she went back home to France to bad their was only 1 season and 33 episodes, they cancel the good show for the stupid shows, that just don't make sense worst they last 12 /13 yrs @spazzcat03 yeah, she is France. SHAME!!!

I watched a couple of episodes of this series here at KZbin and thought they were really pretty good, but I find Angel to be quite annoying in this episode. She's just too loud and shrill. Mel Blanc, though, was his usual incomparable self.

I agree with your approach. However, deriding immigrants in the U.S. on the basis of their dialect & mispronunciation of the American language is anything but respectful. It is appallingly disrespectful, intolerably arrogant, & an example of racial & ethnic elitism. That's what I find so objectionable about this episode's scriptwriting. My view does not "screw it up for 'normal' Americans." In fact, your notion of "normal" Americans smacks of elitism. FYI: we're ALL "normal Americans."

I never saw a single episode of this series, & frankly, based on the ethnic & racial humor in it, did not miss much. The dialect humor is really rather appalling.
