I loved this song so much I went out and bought this 45 rpm song and played it in my 45 rpm record machine that I had in my 1968 Dodge Charger R/T and I proposed to my wife in 1969 and we danced all night to Angel Baby

I know some people don’t believe in it but I fell in love at first sight with an angel i called baby. She loved me too and two months later we got married, I had 16 years of something a lot of people don’t have 16 days of. She was taken away to heaven and I didn’t ever get over losing her. But two years later I heard a voice in my heart that said if I believe in Jesus and God You’ll see that girl again. I could breath a little better.

This song was and is an anthem for all of Socal Mexican/American (emphasis on American) society (no I didn't go East for "Memories Of El Monte" though I probably missed out big time) when I was fifteen and had friends in the projects WLA. No party was complete without a 45 of this song to slow dance to. I look at a latino person today and I forget for a moment, then get an immediate return to today that those people would never understand the culture from that period and that I have nothing to share from the time with them, but the rule that you are in the here and now and until you learn otherwise, you treat everyone the same way, In The Moment, Here and Now, is my nature. That's being real
