Meet soprano Angel Blue as she recounts milestones in her journey to the world’s greatest stages.
ABOUT ANGEL BLUE
American soprano Angel Blue holds a master's degree in opera performance from the University of California and was a member of the Centre de Perfeccionament Plácido Domingo at the Palau de les Arts in Valencia from 2009-to 2011. She has since sung for the world’s leading opera companies, and her most recent engagements have been Mimì in La bohème with the Wiener Staatsoper, Semperoper Dresden, Metropolitan Opera and Canadian Opera Company; and Violetta in La traviata at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, and at Teatro alla Scala in Milan. In concert, Blue has sung with orchestras including the Berliner Philharmoniker, the Orchestra dell'Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia and the London, Munich and Israeli Philharmonic orchestras. She has sung at international festivals, and in 2017 she opened the Summer Recital Series in New York’s Central Park. Blue is a former Miss Hollywood and the CEO of the nonprofit organization Sylvia’s Kids.

Such a lovely interview and a lovely women to have done it with. She truly is one of a kind. It just hit me that I don't believe Marilyn Horne or Leontyne Price have had an interview with Opera America. Or Richard Bonynge. We have very few left from the Golden Age. There should be a series of interviews dedicated to the good old days of opera from these wonders as only they could tell it. If this could be at all possible I would greatly appreciate it.

What a beautiful, gracious person and a wonderful interview. This is my first introduction to Angel Blue and was not familiar with her so I hadn’t planned to watch the entire interview, but she is so lovely and down to earth. I admire her greatly already and look forward to hearing her perform live in a couple weeks.
