I lovvveeee Angel and Cordelia !! I think they would have been great together romantic if they didn't have such bad timing.. like seriously bad, like the worst timing of any to characters on a television series. But honestly, even though I hated that, and it was so incredibility tragic it was also something I loved about them because even though they were in love and they clearly wanted to be together, they ALWAYS put the world and their duties to the world, their destinies first. They were true hero's, and I will always admire that. I think we should all agree that Angel and Cordelia were soul mates. No matter if you hated Cangel or only liked them as friends and nothing more, or even if you did want them together romantically, I think either way, they spell out the definition of a soul mate. I guess not everyone has to agree but imo, I don't think your soul mate always has to be your one true love (like Dawson and Joey in Dawson's Creek), and the reasons every time I think of Angel and Cordelia I think of soul mates isn't because I wanted them together romantically, it was just for the simple fact that they got each other. They understood each other in ways no one else did, and they were better people because of knowing each other! Cordelia did a 180 on Angel but so did Angel and I think that had a lot to do with Cordelia and her unwavering faith in him and the believe he would always do good even if he was a "monster"

The lyric/scene pairing of _"She's going off about something that you said, she doesn't get your humor like I do"_ is the most accurately captured portrayal of the contrast between the two relationships; how Buffy never really appreciated Angel or could cope with the fact that he isn't human the way Cordy did. Interestingly, there is an exchange between Angel and Cordy that relates though it's the other way around, about his finding her humorous. I believe it's at the beginning of 'To Shanshu in LA': _Cordy: Nobody gets my humor!_ _Angel: I thought it was funny._ His voice betrays him big time but that's just because at this point he was still pretty severely depressed over Buffy. Any true Cangel fan knows from 'Halloween' and 'Some Assembly Required' that she exclusively was able to get him to smile and laugh like a human being. The scene selection in the verse: _"Walkin' the streets with you and your worn-out jeans"_ Should have been when she and Angel (and Wes) were walking down the street at the beginning of 'Eternity' right before Angel saves Rebecca Lowell. Or the balcony scene at the end of 'Somnambulist'. I'll admit there aren't really any scenes that accurately lend themselves to that lyric but either of these scenes come the closest. Then for _"I can't help thinking this is how it ought to be_ _Laughing on a park bench, thinking to myself_ _Hey isn't this easy"_ should have been from 'Birthday' when Angel was presenting his gift to Cordy, and she's holding Connor with this really great smile on her face. Or possibly the end of 'That Vision Thing' when she's making waffles for him even though he doesn't eat because she felt like his kitchen at the hotel needed to be used. These arrangements would have better delivered the casual and natural atmosphere of the lyrics then the 'Waiting in the Wings' scenes in my opinion. @Layla Liv "the "she wears high heels I wear sneakers, she's cheer captain and I'm on the bleachers" parts are a bit of a stretch" This is true but that arrangement was the only possible way to lyric match the characters. In actuality it's the lyric that's inaccurate not the character portrayal but it's an impossible part of the song to remove. It was a bold risk using this song because as a whole it's a difficult one to lyric match with either 'BTVS' or 'Angel' but for the most part I believe this vidder pulled it off well.

I forgot about how much I loved this vid!! I'm currently in the middle of a re-watch of Angel and seeing this makes me want to go back to the start again just to match up the eps to the clips. Gosh, how I miss the Stranger-Things days...there was such an amazing wealth of vid and fic talent on that site which I have never found since. I may just have to go back for a visit and see if I can find some of the old classic fics that I enjoyed so much years ago. The words of the song are kind of a stretch as Cordy really was the one who was a cheerleader in short skirts and high heels, but I love the way the video captures how Angel just lights up around Cordy. Angel and Buffy had there time and place and I think they were meant to be together for a time, but after awhile it just got old how miserable he was with her. I think in the long run Cordy was much better for him.

I wouldn't go that far. Angel doesn't belong to anyone (and nobody can belong to him) unless he gets the "shanshu" or else any relationship with him is doomed anyway. As friends I agree. But never as a couple.
