Aw what a great trip down memory lane! I remember Season 1 and 2 when Wesley was brand new to the team and he had this awesome Sunnydale history & dynamic with Cordy! His clumsiness and straight laced manner was perfect for Cordy's biting sarcasm. They were so cute as friends, I truly missed this part of the show. By season 3&4, Wes went all dark and the friendship between him and Cordy became non existent. Thank you for making this fanvid!

Aaaaaah I love this song!!! It can be used in a shippy way or in a friendship/familial way, and it always lends itself to humor! This video is so freaking cute!! I can't even put it into words. I love this friendship so much too. They make for such a fun balance of personalities! It's too funny that it starts off on btvs with their goofy crushes and leads to the epitome of sibling-esque love! Oh and NOTHING beats the moment they do the Bangel impression!! hehehe love this!!!

I know I'm in the minority, but I shipped them so much and thought during S2 of Angel that the show as going to lead to the two of them ending up together. I still think they would have been a great couple and continue sailing the Cordy/Wes ship even if it's by myself

You were not alone. I wanted them to happen. I never understood how people wanted to ship her with Angel. She would never be his first choice. She would have deserved better.

I think the writing messed that up. Too much going on in S3 they didn’t know what to do with most characters so they didn’t handle it well. Plus S4 doesn’t count because it’s not her. As for her not being his first choice. His feelings were always clear no? Even in S1 there’s hints of it even if it wasn’t intended it was written to be subtle. He’s obviously always been attracted to her. We never got to see her side of it. I like that the show showed his feelings though and not the other way around. I do think she’d be his first choice. Take out the romance she was his best friend and family. They both were outsiders in Sunnydale never really had a true friend. They both had faults but they brought out the best in each other. Cordy was written to be the light in Angels life so that’s canon. That’s why she was brought in. She’s always optimistic even coming back to help him one last time fighting through her own grief and holding back tears to see her friends one last time. Look how lost he was without her. He even said it. He also said in 3x13 that they “grew together” And he said all those months under water all he kept thinking was “I gotta get home to Cordelia” I hate that people think romance first with them. Their relationship was deeper than that because they never got a chance. They really could’ve been one of the best and healthiest couples if the writers didn’t mess it up. She’s the only one who’s capable of truly getting him to open up and not stand for any of his crap. She’s the only one to ever get him to laugh and smile constantly even in Sunnydale. Little jealous moments he’s had of literally every guy. Even in S1. So it was definitely there. Romance just wasn’t the theme of the show so probably why it wasn’t more obvious. Anyways their relationship felt very natural to me. It just wasn’t executed properly but that’s not their fault. In You’re Welcome you can totally see the potential but yeah it never happened. To me though they’ll always be best friends first because they were never a couple and judging their relationship based off a romance that didn’t have a chance sort of diminishes their whole past.

What I realy hate in shows like buffy and Angel and glee, everyone had something with everyone at some point, something special developes and than gets throwen out of the window. I do not mean that there has to be one could that stays togeather forever . . . But the throwing it all over and start again makes those special bonds meaningless

I really wanted this ship to happen but I did love their friendship. I’m just mad they tried to even slightly go the Cordy/Angel route. Cordy would have always deserved better. I know it had its fans but it just never made sense to me to. Angel would have never been able to fully love her and she didn’t deserve to be his second choice.
