Here is a classic tune from John Prine, made famous by Bonnie Raitt and covered by many artists over the decades. I have been working on this track with a friend, so I figured I would upload a take of it. Thanks--Tim.

Excellent song performance - this piece always gets me thinking about life and what I'm willing to live with.

Thank you, my friend. It's a very deep song, kind of dark actually, but Prine was sort of dark.

@timtsh I write often. I had no idea how much John Prine impacted my writing. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rl6ofWNqd852Y5Isi=sGq3ETEJ3CJQjM1g

Hey, Matthew the beginning and ending of that tune sounded a bit like John Prine. The middle was a bit more experimental. Lyrics wise, I would call you more of an impressionist than Prine, although he often used subtle metaphors. Anyway, I appreciate the share--Tim.

@timtsh Well put, I appreciate your listening and consideration. Yes, I write with free associations and imagery. At times, my stuff is difficult to follow.

I am more than happy to check out your tunes, Matthew. I make music because it's a fun release from the dirt of everyday life. All I can say is keep writing, playing, and singing, especially when people seem to be responding to it. Best wishes--Tim.

Tim, very unique style of playing and very unique dedication to the world that is coming back at these very changing times and coming back fast and steady. Well done. And cheers. Yamaha is cool.

Very nice, Tim! Maybe John Prine's best song, certainly his best known song. Lovely to hear this, Tim! - Glenn

Thank you, Glenn. I think the version that Aly and I are working on will be really pretty. In the demos, she really sounds angelic. You are the best, my friend. I would still go for Sam Stone as maybe Prine's greatest. It's hard to pick, right?

Really nice Tim. I really like the way you play around with the phrasing on the vocal. This is as fine a vocal as I've heard from you and I like a lot of them quite a bit. And, of course, your accompaniment is right on. I play this a lot too, but have never recorded it - I don't bring anything in particular to it. I just enjoy it.
