Johnny O. - I saw Hendrix, too. Blew my mind.. Soft Machine and MC5 opened for him. (Listen to the 2nd SM album and they thank him for taking them on the tour. Didn't realize it for years). It's almost impossible to describe the effect that Hendrix had on music unless you were there. He 'invented' a new chord for pete's sake. Nobody was playing 7#9ths before him. That first album of his was life changing.

Oh, and I forgot to add - I'm picking up a Leslie 16 today. This song will be on my repertoire. Lots of chord changes and movement up and down the neck. It makes me wonder if Jimi's "Angel" influence Trower's "Daydream" (which I find much easier to play than "Angel". Regardless, they're both great. But "Angel" is in another class for me.

@@rgortega1285Truth be told, I dropped a good bit of acid back in the day and loved every single experience. That said, I still believe the stories in the books I've read that said Jimi wrote the song about his Mom who loved Jimi, but was just a wreck in life. But when she glided into his life, she would shower him wife love. What child wouldn't yearn for that and cherish the times they had.

Angel" Angel came down from heaven yesterday She stayed with me just long enough to rescue me And she told me a story yesterday About the sweet love between the moon and the deep blue sea And then she spread her wings high over me She said she's gonna come back tomorrow And I said, "Fly on my sweet angel Fly on through the sky Fly on my sweet angel Tomorrow I'm gonna be by your side" Sure enough this morning came unto me Silver wings silhouetted against the child's sunrise And my angel she said unto me "Today is the day for you to rise Take my hand, you're gonna be my man You're gonna rise" And then she took me high over yonder And I said, "Fly on my sweet angel Fly on through the sky Fly on my sweet angel Forever I will be by your side"

Nowdays you often hear things like "less is more" I dont think this goes with the filosofy of Jimi Hendrx, He squeezes out every emotion in every chord, and he paints with so many colors. On top of that, you show that the guitar is so beautiful just how it it but of course he put lyrics on this one and it goes on and on. Very beautiful. Love the begining chord, it really sounds like a a door opener to heaven where all the angels are. God bless you and your guitar man!

Dear Greg, you young Italian genius.... Patreon aside, I want to thank you for your hard work, your open sharing of what you do. As a boy I listened to Purple Haze on the Juke box at 10 years old, and decided what is the point of playing guitar with the mastery and command already established by JH, on the other hand, I still listen to hendrix almost daily, but now I find myself preferring to LISTEN (and watch) you, play all of my favorite tunes, obscure to the mainstream, I cannot thank you enough for you devotion and wonderful videos... You make my day.... often on a regular basis..... (when ever I see a thumbs down on anything you do, it gives me comfort on my own YT videos,.... JUST jealousy which are from less evolved souls, which cannot be helped as they know not what they do..... ) You rock my friend.
