I just bought a house in zone 9A, and my backyard has almost 2 dozen of these plants. They were neglected with watering for a long time until I put an irrigation system off my well water, and now they are growing like gangbusters in about a month! No flowers yet though. I cannot believe how fast they grow. Also there was one in a 100% shady area that hadn’t been watered in ages, and once I started watering it, it sprang back to life and is now huge! I’m hoping I can get them to flower eventually. Your plant is absolutely amazing with all those flowers. Very impressive!

I got one of maybe the same colour last spring; somehow it survived the winter, and now it's a huge bush, about my height, flowering like crazy next to the overflow port of the disused septic tank. I need to bring it in for winter soon, but it won't fit through the door 😅

These things are nigh indestructible. My mom has one she's been trying to kill for years because she wants to reuse the huge pot it's in, but like a zombie it keeps growing back.

If you wanted to kill a plant all you have to do is take it out of the pot, she’s created a monster at this point…..

You can let a frost hit them instead of cutting all them blooms off, seems like a waste of beauty to cut cut those lovely flowers off after waiting all summer for them to come, mine is just starting to bud out and we're in 1st week of September....

I have a Charles grimaldi, painted pink lady , betty Marshall and a mango crush angel trumpet plants and grow them in pots up here in Washington state

Here's a secret for you. Take 1 tablespoon of Epsom salts and add to a gallon of water and use once your plant starts to bud

I would love to grow a Trumpet. I'm in zone 9. We get a freeze once in awhile, so nervous about the plant. In my nearby neighborhood, I've seen two Trumpets ground planted full size trees. This is early January and those trees are heavily laden with flowers. My question is should I plant a starter in a pot then, as it matures, plant it in ground? Also, are there certain ones that can/cannot be grown in ground in my zone?

You don't have to start it in a pot and transfer to the ground. You can slowly acclimate the plant to the outdoor area planned for planting as long as the plant is hardy to your zone.
