Because of this episode, I started a tradition in 2009, to go the ballet every year on my birthday. Saw Swan Lake on Friday. No matter what, I replay lines from the ep in my head over and over again every time.

And because that ballerina danced so nicely, Joss Whedon cast her as River Tam in _Firefly,_ and then in Dollhouse, and that's how Summer Glau got her big break. There is a story that while filming the love scene between Angel and Cordy, Whedon (who directed this episode) had the idea of panning the camera away from their reflection in the brass mirror. This drew stunned looks from David and Charisma, who had to remind Joss that Angel, as a vampire, didn't have a reflection.

I always found it interesting that all the ideas in the script leading to making the episode were scrapped/deleted scenes aka Amy Acker and Alexis Denisof dancing.

Every time I watch this episode, I can't help to identify it as "the begining": the moment when the spiraling wheel of events that leads to this season, and the whole show, ending starts spinning. It really is a pivotal episode, but you can't recognise its importance the first time you watch it.

Your reaction to seeing everyone looking gorgeous all dressed up reminds me of when I used to watch soap operas. At regular intervals the plot would create some occasion as an excuse to get everyone in formal wear. That way you could get to see the women all glammed up, and even the male characters who you usually saw in jeans and a plaid shirt would suddenly be debonair in tuxedos.

I'm sorry but I will never change my mind: Angel and Cordelia together are more disturbing than Buffy and Spike! They always gave to me brother and sister wibe so this is almost an incest! About the possession: yes, a very bad copy of I only have eyes for you! Last thing: I love Groo!! Why did they treat him so bad in this season? I really think he was perfect for Cordelia!

Since I know you’re ahead in real time I feel comfortable commenting that this was the last episode of Angel I really liked…. Doing Cordelia so dirty in season 4 drives me nuts! Fine I like a few other episodes but this one was last giddy excited one. I also stopped watching your got reactions at the end of season four I couldn’t bear to watch that show go down hill for you lol.
