I'm on this record! I can't believe this is even on here, I wore out the 45 they gave us, so I haven't heard this in a long long time. I love it! I was with the California Boys Choir in LA and we did some amazing gigs all the time, but this was our first rock record and as far as I know the only one we did. It's just amazing hearing that all these years later, the arrangement is so great! the guys were super cool and super excited to have us there, I was singing first soprano I was 10 years old, so that's me way up high! haha ha if I remember correctly, we nailed this on the first take, but did another one just in case. Such memories! it's a really wonderful arrangement of a beautiful song. Thank You. Doug Naslund (our director) for letting us do this gig!

Yes, unfortunately. Angel are one of the best bands ever formed, but it just didn't happen for them the way it should have. I don't know what kept them from huge stardom, but it eluded them. I've loved them over half my life. I heard Kiss first and I sort of dug them, but then I got into Angel and I never could take Kiss seriously after that. There is a difference between a good band and a great one. Kiss had some good songs, but Angel are far superior and they should have steamrolled over a whole lot of lesser bands who were big at the time.

Completely agree ! This song is a masterpiece !!!!!
@benjiarehart28782 жыл бұрын
@@janvandaele8283 It really is a good song. It's crazy how some great bands back in the day went virtually unnoticed by the mainstream. Musicians knew who they were though. Like The Sweet. Their drummer Mick Tucker (R.I.P.) was John Bonham good, but he too wasn't a household name. Being a drummer, I knew who he was, as well as most drummers back then. Angel was in the movie Foxes. It starred Jodie Foster, Scott Baio, Randy Quaid, and a few other great actors. I saw it at the movies in 1980 when I was 16 yrs old. They go to an Angel concert in the movie. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it.

You can find this song on their "White Hot" CD. You can also find a re-mixed version on " A Rock 'N' Roll Christmas I I ". It's a various artist holiday CD and might be hard to find. You might check out Ebay for it. What's cool about this version is that the title of the song is changed to "The Christmas Song" and the lyrics were also changed to fit the new title. The song is basically the same though.

I love this song, gives me the chills. Flying with broken wing is my all time Angel song, makes me want to cry. It has a very personal attatchment. I love you Punky. You guys never got the recognition you deserved. Long live Angel, you music is forever engraved deep within my heart.

I saw the Godz open for Angel back in 1976 at the Kiel Opera House in St. Louis Missouri. The Godz sucked that night! but Angel Rocked! They came down out of the ceiling in a huge box and it exploded and they jumped out! and started Rockin! Great show! i met the members in person that night!
