Angela (Angie) Bowie, model-writer and ex-wife of David Bowie, is joined by late cabaret star Kenny Sacha in this rare half-hour interview with cable TV host Skip E. Lowe. Sacha, who died in 1992, played clubs across the country, appeared in several TV shows and impersonated Barbra Streisand in Bette Midler's "The Rose".

I had alway's saw Angie as a true survivor , and as an individual , I thought she had the heart of a poet . I suspected that she had a great love for Art , Music and Poetry , and she most of all would of been one who I would of been most grateful too for allowing me to recite my original poetry too , I would of loved her to hear my poetry as if I could of dreamed it or as to have a wish in life that she could have . We all have dreams that goes beyond the material world and that would of been one for me . Thank you for posting ! `Liked' !!!

Her audiobook is here for free and you hear her talking about all the things she spoke about with David and you realize it may have been she that actually educated him and caused him to really grow and become the entertainer he was in the early days and first few years of some of his greatest successes . I just got done listening to the one here for free I think it was called backstage pass and I really do believe everything she wrote in the book and everything she says . A lot of it made me sad and I believe he knew he screwed her over in the end and was harsh towards her especially with the gag order where she was not allowed to talk about or write about their relationship for 10 years afterwards . I really do believe that she did all the things she said she did to help his career and I really do believe she made a massive difference where where it not for her being so organized and having the know how with marketing and with people that he might never have made it to that status early on and maybe would have sort of missed the boat as they call it

Also I think the strangest part of the book is when she talks about being at their friend's house in LA with the storm outside his window ... well it won't make sense now but when you hear it , it'll be kind of strange . I think the woman did way too much for him looking back ... she was his mother his lover his cook his confidant , his manager , his organizer ... she did everything for him and got very little back in return ... very very little . I also believe her when she talks about the time he choked her . As much as I love David Bowie I do believe he was as clever and smart as she says he was and charming ... he was extremely ambitious and I do believe he was a bit of a social climber and used people yes I do believe that as much as I really admire him I did hear things about him being a user .

I didn't know who this young guy was but I googled and discovered he died of AIDS. So sad. So young - what a terrible disease, it really did steal almost an entire generation of creative talent. I was young then and this was a blast from the past - I remember all those wacky cable shows NYC had (I guess LA too!) It's sad watching this and seeing Kenny for the first time and thinking what a cool and talented guy he seems to be and then finding out he didn't get a chance to continue bringing his talents to the world because of that scourge. It was sad, but I wasn't surprised, remembering what that disease did to the world.

Angie's been a victim of negative PR over the years, much of it undeserved. Along with Mick Ronson, she was responsible for much of David's early success. Like Mick & many others she was eventually discarded in the wake of David's meteoric rise to the top. Angie is fondly remembered by many of David's early friends in Beckenham & Bromley.

Welcome to the dystopian, cocaine fuelled world of David Bowie aka The Thin White Duke! Angie Bowie was airbrushed completely from David's life & anyone who mentioned her became persona non grata. Ironically, as David descended into the mire of drugs, sex & alcohol Angie began to seek a world of greater normality. By then David was living a hedonistic & addictive parallel life. It became almost impossible to gain access to her husband who would indulge in drug fuelled sex with men or women in hotel bedrooms. Lori Mattix & friends have some interesting memories from that time! Not good PR & never mentioned. Bowie's security would prevent Angie from entering David's hotel room during these sessions...I'm sure that hurt to the core! Bowie once told Gail Ann Dorsey that he was glad she never knew him during those days, he said he was not a nice person. Angie may not have been a saint but the fact that she has been damned since 1980 is grossly unfair! Like Ronson she remained largely uncredited by Bowie for any part in his early success....but hey, that's showbiz!

Me too, she's funny and intelligent - and she helped David A LOT. It must be hard having creative yearnings of your own but being married to someone who is an artistic genius - she's definitely creative and interesting but she's not a performer - but so what?! Back then there was a ton of interesting performance art and a vibrant downtown scene. A lot of people weren't exactly geniuses either. If you have the guts to get out there and express yourself creatively, power to you!! Even if she were great, she'd still be lousy by comparison to the creative god she was married to! That would not have been easy. I think she has artistic talent in other ways, however - she helped Bowie fully realize Ziggy and worked hard to make him a star. She would have been an amazing agent! People who slag her forget - the same things they criticize her for may have been qualities that made Bowie fall in love with her. He clearly liked who she was until he outgrew the relationship, so you are in a way criticizing him too.

From spending 10 years in Britain. People disrespect her - she was on UK CBB - and she was cool and she was decent - can you imagine being dumped by the person you love just as they become famous? Angie is great. And David wouldnt have it said any other way.

Busy girl. She met Bowie at age 19 and claims she was an actress, uni graduate...Which didn't exist at the time and she is labelled a rock star. She certainly didn't master an accent. What a lark!

Actually, no. She helped to create him and she does not ever get the credit she deserves for the early days. Mick Ronson's ex gives agrees Angie played a big part in making Ziggy. I am not saying she is a nice person but back then she was a creative force .

There has to be a film called How do you live with a girl like Angie?. I find her impossible to like and very self obsessed, she may have been great for Bowie to feed off of but must have been impossible to live with too, it feels like she never turns off and that is an awful character trait but that is me, others may find her charming.

9 mins in and I can't watch any more. Who is this woman? Is she possessed? Speaking with an English accent?? She's insane. Poor David. She helped at first, but I can completely understand why he couldn't stand her in the end.

There's no such last name as Bowie. It was David's stage name only. It was not a legal name. So her taking the name in the first place was fake. After their divorce it was even more idiotic.

@@pisospicados3337 no it wasn't. He was David Jones legally. He signed legal documents as Jones. Bowie was simply a name he chose like some writers do for whatever reason that they only use professionally. In David's case he never changed it. That's why his daughter is Lexi Jones and his son is Duncan Jones.

What an awful interview! The interviewer seems not to know anything at all about Angela or about David. Also, he doesn’t hide the fact that he is not interested in her, but wants the dirt on David. Also Angela seems out of it, either on drugs, or simply disinterested and not focused.
