Unfortunally, there is still people in Portugal who think of him as the villain. As Portuguese myself, I think we as a people should be ashamed and agknowledge the mistakes that our fascist dictatorship did, that not only made the average Portuguese poor and uneducated, but left even more those who were called Portuguese from the "overseas provinces", and even more exploited.

He IS the "villain". He was a warmonger. Guineans were Portuguese (not "pretend Portuguese", REAL Portuguese, with the same rights as any other). They lived peacefully before these glorified terrorists (PAIGC) decided to wreak havoc. Contrary to popular belief, the oppression was worse in the "metrópole" than in the "ultramar". My dad tells me moving from Bissau to Aveiro was like day and night. Everything was worse in continental Portugal. Even his favourite drink was banned (Coca-Cola). Anyway, if these China-funded separatists had only waited for the coup d'état that overthrew our dictatorship in 1974 (which also stupidly gave the African overseas provinces their independence without a referendum), just how many lives would have been spared? The blood is in their hands, not Portugal's. Portugal didn't start a war. And the only country that gained anything with this carnage was China, the "financial coloniser" of Guinea-Bissau nowadays.

@@lucasribeiro7534 you are absolutely delusional.

@@ninanano Not at all. You're brainwashed if you think Amílcar Cabral did any good to Guinea-Bissau. 1. He forced independence upon a people whose majority didn't want it (for his own interests, as he'd become the leader of a newly-formed nation). 2. He was responsible for the 13-year war, alongside his university buddies (Portuguese Guinea was one of the most peaceful places in the world until he arrived with Cuban guerrilla warfare). 3. PAIGC killed thousands of innocent people during and after the war (black, white and mixed). 4. Guinea-Bissau today is a shadow of what it once was. It's run-down and ruled by corrupt politicians who only care about themselves and lead luxurious lives with the taxpayers' money. Amílcar Cabral was that type of politician. If he hadn't been killed by PAIGC before becoming the dictator he wanted to be, people wouldn't romanticise him so much.

Angela Davis, May the forces of good allow shine on you. Its amazing that the West can s I t there and try to justify their slavery. In Africa. Ive never known what it would take for Africans to understand that Africa is their continent and they need to stand up. May God Bless You.
