Angelarium was one of the most special experiences I ever had in media. Peter's take on angels was what sent me down a rabbit hole of "let's research every angelic and divine figure ever, what could possibly go wrong?" that I still struggle to get out of, but it also made gods and all the divine stuff in my stories much more detailed and unorthodox, so I can't really be mad about it.

In the old testament, many of the previous members of the Hebrews polytheistic pantheon and the pantheons of those around them, were converted into both angels and demons in the new, monotheistic religion.
@LilithLonelyHeart Жыл бұрын
@@asdfasdf-dd9lk Yeah it often felt like it, probably the oldest books of the old testament have really the most a feeling of the religion of its time with how often characters appear out of nowhere just because they were needed for further mythos
@zacherytobin6434 Жыл бұрын
Its pretty common in abrahamic religion. Especially since most if not all the gods from other pantheons and relgions do technically exist in Judeo-christian mythological cannon, but as powerful spirits that are either ignorantly mistaken for or arrogantly proclaim themselves to be god-like. Much like the monarchs of earthly kingdoms that were so often used to conceptualize divine hierarchies, god himself was not necessarily without lawful vassals or even false claimants to his lofty throne. This also presumably helped Christianity to better serve the Roman empire's much loved strategy of incorporating the pantheons of conquered peoples into their own religion to further cultural assimilation.

@TheDigitalWatcher Жыл бұрын
These fallen angels are straight up meant to be The Watchers of the book of Enoch, so I'm fairly confident we'll see nephilim in book 3.
@DneilB007 Жыл бұрын
The Nephilim will be the children of the Fallen Angels, just like Enoch will become, somehow, the Metatron. The story is a reimagining of the narrative of 1-3 Enoch. Not a retelling, a reimagining. While he appears to be keeping the broad strokes, he is still following his own path as it leads him through the narrative. I don’t think that you will get spoilers from reading the original books, but rather a deeper understanding of where he’s going from the deviations he takes, the choices he makes. Cheers!

I just stumbled on this, am interested in both Art and esoteric spiritual teachings. I thought these Watcher angels were going to turn out to be the Nephilim. I think the children they have with their human brides will probably turn out to be the Nephilim.

Just offhand I expect an angel would have a very hard time if suddenly thrust truly into the world of humans, in a complete way. By that I mean being here as a human, without bringing their angelic powers with them. I imagine angels as having a purity that would make coping with the stark pragmatism / give and take of "real life" very difficult.

@justice8718 Жыл бұрын
They’re not aliens and aliens don’t exist. They are demons and Fallen angels. Heaven js literally above us and the saints go there with the angels tagging them along. Many humans on this earth have angels all around them to care for them and protect them, especially if they are the sheep of Christ. Angels are quite interesting in that they are varied between bats, birds, snakes (beast of the land) and fish. The mermaids you heard about are aquatic fallen angels. It is in our power to command them since Genesis 1-2 (the beast of the field, the fowl of the air, and the fishes) the but you have two sides. Satan, the god of this world, or Jesus Christ.

Always thought it was interesting to see writers explore how an angel would deal with the mortal world/experience. One I thought was especially sublime is how angels do not experience pain the same way we do, things like depression or anxiety simply would not compute and when suddenly thrust upon them can make them take desperate measure to "heal" it. For example, an angel coming across a high school girl who just got dumped. The feeling would seem so extreme to the divine being that it might believe it necessary to kill the girl. Granted it was a quick and painless death and in the angels eye's was a complete mercy, but to us it an obvious overreaction.

I wonder if there are any plans of translating the books in other languages. While many people in my country are capable of the english language, the majority doesn't read english books, which is due to the fact, that many foreign books are translated here. So mostly only people who try to learn english, improve their language skills or simply enjoy to read the original, are doing so, which really is a minority. The Angelarium-series is such an interesting and well-presented story, that i wish it to be known by more people and every library should have it.
