Hey Angela, I have been following you for YEARS and I just wanted to thank you for all that you do. Your vulnerability and hard work has been so inspiring to see and has motivated me to do little DIY things around the house! I'd love to keep getting better, and you've been my inspiration to keep improving.

Have you ever tried your favorite stain combo on cherry? I have a bed to refinish but unfortunately it's cherry but I want the look of early american + weathered oak!

You did not explain if we need to remove the excess Wood conditioner and how long to wait after we apply the wood conditioner.

Is that water based polyurethane or oil based? I used oil based on non stained wood. Will it get yellow after few years? Really worried

Using a random orbital sander is not "sanding in the direction of the grain", that's sanding in every direction. You can use a sander, but then finish sanding by hand, in the direction of the grain. If you want to stain like a pro, pick a better brand than Minwax. I've used Minwax so many times because it's the main brand you find everywhere. Try a brand like Varathane or General, and you'll see that Minwax is terrible.

@@watchaly re-read the comment. stating fact and opinion on the process only. known as constructive criticism. as in critiquing the process based on obvious substantial experience. people read things into comments all the time. this is strictly info and very helpful at that. zero judgment of Angela. only judgement of Minwax. My experience is the same btw. Especially when it comes to gel stains. For big box brands, Varathane is much better and priced the same. Minwax used to be solid a few decades ago.

only problem with this video is the lettering to the side of the screen is too light and small to see from the couch! otherwise, you are the best teacher!

why does your recipe call for 6 to 8 cups of flour but in the directions it says to add 3 to 4 cups and you've had as many as 5?? why the discrepancy?
