I feel the same exact way Joanna!! I have done the same. I had an African client living in the US for many years now and when he heard it he was crying uncontrollably, but he felt so good after. He didn't know he needed that "good cry" he didn't know he was missing his country so much and that he was suffocating the pain and the loneliness not to show it. He called me when he got home to tell me he had booked a flight to go home and visit after 40 years being away. I believe this performance of this song is MAGICAL!!!! I too, cry every time...

I've lost every friendship and failed at everything since I came back from war 45 years ago. I cried in bed one day and prayed to God. I told Him that all I had to offer was my broken heart. He talked to me and said, "It's okay to break down; I've got you." He then told them, "Trust me, I have great things planned for you." After three weeks I saw my life change for the better because of Michael Jtone Leshkevich and how God used her. I reached out to her after reading about her. Because she was nice to me, I started a business that I never thought I'd enjoy. His help gave me a new sense of community and purpose. More than ever, I feel complete and happy. Michael's help and this song have been real joys in my life....

Hi Janice. Your sentence "Keep the God you serve first" seemed to mean to put God above all else and love him "with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength" (Deteronomy 6:5, NIV). But then you put the US-American flag behind it: 🇺🇸. That changes the meaning of your sentence, I believe. Now it seems to mean to put the US-American flag or (pars pro toto) the USA (= your God) above all else. Did you mean to say that?

First time I've seen choreography added to this moving music. Still brings chills and tears to this rendition.

I'm on Baba Yetu binge right now and this is 1 of the best 2 choir group performance and singing I've seen. Everyone took part, performed and sang together. Not many lacking of facial expression spotted when singing (which is great) and can hear the singing has feelings poured into it. When you sing to God, you have to sing with feelings and dance (if you want to) to show Him that you are doing it for Him. Singing to God is like you have to "send" your voice to Him and let Him "receive" what you expressed.

This time I brought the words! Thank You For The Happiness❤ Baba yetu, yetu uliye Mbinguni yetu, yetu amina! Baba yetu yetu uliye M Jina lako e litukuzwe. Utupe leo chakula chetu Tunachohitaji, utusamehe Makosa yetu, hey! Kama nasi tunavyowasamehe Waliotukosea usitutie Katika majaribu, lakini Utuokoe, na yule, muovu e milele! Ufalme wako ufike utakalo Lifanyike duniani kama mbinguni. (Amina) Our Father, who art in Heaven. Amen! Our Father, Hallowed be thy name. Give us this day our daily bread, Forgive us of our trespasses, As we forgive others Who trespass against us Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one forever. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done On Earth as it is in Heaven. (Amen) 💕
