Mmm, not entirely accurate info. Swahili is an East African language and the dress code of the two Africans (or African personas) towards the end is typical of the Maasai community in Kenya. Therefore I would say this was meant to bring out the East African culture (or approach to sacred music) rather than SA's.

As someone who was part of an allstate choir I can tell you that a choir feeds off the energy of the conductor. The members each have such great chemistry and love of the song, but they are also taking their emotion direct from him. To me, this really is the best version of this song. Everyone in the choir looks like they're having the time of their lives and this arrangement just knocks it out of the park. I was once part of a choir in primary which happened to be one of the best in South Africa. The feeling of being part of a choir is above any I've ever felt as a human being! I can only imagine how these guys are so blessed to be part of the number 1 ranked choir in the world!

The only thing amazing on that continent is the amount of resources we can yet claim from it. Other than that it's population is a blight on this world. A sinkhole where it does not matter how much money the western world pumps into it, they will never evolve. This song has a meaning much more important than anyone being represented. They are singing Lords Prayer in Swahili language. It is a very powerful prayer. As a matter of fact, you should pray the words they were singing *EVERY DAY* not necessarily in Swahili but in whatever language you know and prefer.

Each version of this song is a pleasant surprise! This version is one of the most beautiful I've ever heard! The choir is mayor! The voices perfectly tuned and with very nice sound! The part that is usually sung in soil, was excellent sung by men! The soprano voices, contralto perfectly tuned! The end, represented by the two boys in theatrical duet was very good! Singing appears to be a national pasttime in South Africa. They sing so beautifully & their songs are hauntingly beautiful. My first into. to South African music was, of course, the legendary Miriam Makeba, whom I was lucky enough to see in concert before she passed away (RIP). Then, I had the good fortune to see Sarafina on Broadway with all those wonderful SA performers. I have never ever not enjoyed South African music!

I was a boarding student in the Great Rift Valley in Kenya for 6 years. What Kenya has done for me I will never forget because it was a true blessing. I plan on living in Kenya for good but when that will be I do not know. I do not know how strict Kenyan boarding schools are. However my school was strict in the sense of "conservativeness", but I personally did not feel restricted from expressing myself and my passion!
