This was both informative and beautiful as always when you show your work with Angelica. Now I just hope that Angelica will be able to release the full cover on her channel and Spotify. Not sure what is holding it up -- copyright issues? Based on her sneak peeks, it appears that she also arranged and recorded a number of backing tracks and mixed it herself (at 16!). It's clear that she's going to be a star -- the entertainment world is her oyster. Always look forward to your videos -- David, Angelica's first Patron.

By the way, there's a young singer in the Philippines who is, I think nine years old now, who competed on The Voice kids Philippines last year and TNT kids 2 earlier this year, but didn't advance to the later rounds--there are a lot of talented kids in the Philippines. But although she didn't farewell in that setting so far, I think she has something special and she reminds me of Angelica at that age. Here she is with a very recent performance from a mall concert of Never Enough that's tremendous. kzbin.info/www/bejne/p2a7mZ9slJKef5I She really has stage presence, I think. And she was the first contestant from the Voice Kids Philippines in her season to have a KZbin channel. She performs with her older sister too, but she's the better singer, in my opinion.

Tara, I have a question regarding Angelica's voice. She's 16, nearly 17 and her voice is clearly maturing. I expect it will continue to mature for 3 to 4 more years before it reaches its full potential. In this video, while not showing the entire song, she easily hits a rich G3 at the low end and then a chest-dominant mix G6 at the high end. Do you think her mature voice will be a coloratura mezzo-soprano?
@k.c.43844 ай бұрын
Do you mean G5 ? G6 is way too high for chest dominant. Also not TARA but i dont think so at all. First a chest dominant G5 is a trait of a Soprano and not a mezzo. Angelicas voice is very similar to that of an ariana grande. It is light bright but warm. The way they approach high and lows is also similar… If you pay attention to the volume loss and her low notes and G3 that is not exactly a sign of ease. Ariana Grande can also go easily lower than this and make it sound as if it has ease but it is just good technique. Also pay attention to the fit she is hitting the note but isnt on it for very long at all. She touches it then goes back up. Her higher registers are generally stronger than her lower. For these reasons her being a mezzo isnt rlly a question for now. Also a G3 should be fairly easy for most sopranos to hit who know how use chest voice in general. It was warm but rich is a stretch

You are a great coach, and your natural tuning of pitch there on your demonstrationsm, for example, the part Angelica loved and said was jazzy, is better than anything one normally hears. Pitch correction can destroy that effect, unless I guess, if it's used very carefully, but I prefer it not be. Is Angelica's version published yet? Here are two interesting versions of Skyfall from ASAP and TNT. The first is an ASAP Champions ensemble anchored by Jona Viray, with Katrina Velarde and Frenchie Dy, and the whole ensemble at the end, and the second is it unique and jazzy version by TNT winner from a few years ago, JM Yosures, which he performed in the quarterfinals. kzbin.info/www/bejne/nmHYgpRmgM-afZY kzbin.info/www/bejne/rn6uYqNng92keZY
