I saw a tip about getting the clay out of the molds without distorting or damaging them.. put them in the freezer for a bit and the clay just pops right out...

Use a chippy brush for ornate pieces. The brush gets down in there where others won't. Before adding black or white wax, add a layer of clear first . Makes the white and black wax move easier and will wipe back and give you more control. Bohemian Blue is a fabulous color. Probably the prettiest color I've ever seen!
@karenblanck7726 Жыл бұрын
They turned out beautiful! One trick I’ve learned is to apply clear wax first…..then apply the black or dark wax. You have so much more control over moving and removing the dark wax where you want.
@angelicaconrad Жыл бұрын
I’m definitely trying that next time. Thank you!

In regards to using clear wax before using dark wax; not only can you wipe away the dark wax more easily but you can add a little clear wax to your wiping cloth and use as an eraser to remove “heavy handed” dark wax application! This only works with clear wax UNDER the dark wax. Loved these ornaments and thanks for sharing!
@angelicaconrad Жыл бұрын
I can’t wait to use the wax correctly. Lol… I’m trying to get through my upcoming assignments so I can get back to getting dirty! Thanks for the tips!❤️

PS: if you water the paint down a bit, so it becomes more liquid it is easier to get the first color coat of paint in all the noocks of the details and then drybrushing over it with regular thick paint works well for me!

Beautiful! I don't have molds and materials. But, I am thinking of using this technique with my many doilies hanging around. I've seen folks do all kinds of things with them. I have a massive bin that has to have at least a hundred balls in there ... maybe half again or twice that amount! Five bucks at Goodwill!f Most are the standard 3" size. They are the colors that I usually use in my neutral palette: champange, cream, and ivory with different finishes: matte, opaque, super shiny, and glossy. I want to change colors of some of them to bring in some color to my space. I bought them to add to my tree, garlands, wreaths, and outside. Your pieces are stunning! Thank you for the inspiration! Btw, using the dowel is genius!

That sounds like a great idea! And what a great find! Goodwill is such a great place to pick up cheap ornaments. I was just in goodwill, and scored on the back Christmas wall.🥳

You are one awesome crafter. These baubles are beautiful. I think I am going to try these, however I will use white wax instead of black wax. Thats just my preference, to me the black wax just doesn't look christmassy or festive. But that is strictly my preference only. I just like color period, and always have. Color makes me happy. This was not to offend you or anyone. Keep doing what you do, and I will keep watching you. Thanks for explaining it to us.

Bravo! They turned out fabulous. I have to say, it was like listening to myself doing these 😂 the oh this is great to the oh this isn't, repaint...haha really comes down to exploring the materials, tools and techniques for sure. Love to see a video with the same products I use. Love my IOD molds and I use the same air dry clay. Love that stuff. Wasnt expecting the weird fluffy texture the first time I used it, but once I did. Totally hooked. Surprisingly maintains shape and detail while working with it considering how light it is. Thank you for sharing your process too btw. Toothbrush heads are so handy for so many things and definitely try that. For getting into the cracks and tight spots, I find using a fan brush works great. Im leaning to the spray action route myself and have yet to give it a go. Be grateful for any recommendations on what NOT to use for paint. Haha Thank you again for sharing. Look forward to seeing your work. Subscribed! Merry Christmas to you. Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦

Мне тоже нравится глина DAS. Если форму с глиной положить в морозильную камеру минут на 40,то получаются заготовки любой толщины без брака. В этом случае даже можно использовать коврики для айсинга.
