Red Velvet, at its absolute roots, is made with non-Dutched cocoa, not chocolate with food colouring. The cocoa results in a red instead of brown cake. Not the pinky red we've become accustomed to with the overload of red food colouring, but def red. =)

I love red velvet cake! A good red velvet cake has a slight chocolate (like dusted with chocolate) taste with cream cheese frosting. If it is done right, it is creamy and moist without being super sweet.

You’re both correct. The classic/original red velvet cake recipe was a chocolate cake with non-alkalized cocoa. Another commenter mentioned that the reaction from cocoa, vinegar and buttermilk gave it the red color. But conventional red velvet uses less than half of cocoa in a typical chocolate cake and lots of red food coloring, so that it only has a slight chocolate taste.

I've using the Milk skin tint and it looks absolutely lovely on my skin (though the component is HOT GARBAGE). I just turned 40 this year. I'm finding I'm a big fan of natural glow and the skin tints give me that. 😊

The skincare has been praised by a lot of derms around social media. 👍🏻 That doesn't necessarily translate to results, for many people, but it's probably worth a try. 🤔 I have so many light coverage foundations, tinted moisturisers, and BB Creams to use, already. 😣 And the new Colourpop face & body one on the way, too. 😬 I did get the Huda foundation stick a couple months ago, though. I don't think it's QUITE as pretty as the Hourglass one, but it still looks quite nice. And, unlike the Hourglass one, it's completely weightless; you can't FEEL it on your skin all day. 😣 I was only willing to try her foundations once she quit with the powerfully scented products.

I absolutely love the glowish tint and bronzer. I’m combo oily but found it lasted pretty well on my skin regardless. The glow is incredible and I was able to set it down with a really light dusting of the Dior powder no powder.

I’ve been loving the new huda skin tint and bronzer. I’ve not had it feel sticky or tacky. Perhaps it’s because I live in Utah and our air is very dry. Great review!

Oh yeah, the Tantour is SO DARK ! I'm kinda MMAC NC50 and Is use Medium most of the year. When I get tanned , I can get away with the shade Tan, which is the next shade up, but barely. It's better if I mix them. And I also LOVE then Zoeva concealer brush ! So good, so soft !

I have the Glamlite red velvet cupcake palette and I really LOVE the formula and all the shades are vibrant but there’s just one thing I don’t like. I really wish that they would have added a deep matte red or a chocolate shade just so we could deepen up our looks with it. That is the only thing that this palette is missing!

I tend to avoid lip oils with a full lip look because they tend to break down my lipliners. Can you update on how Vieve lipliners hold up to lip oil? For now, I'm just using the lip oils as treatment. I was a little disappointed with Red Velvet Cupcake, so I passed on it. Your whole first impression look is stunning.... as usual. Love! 💕

The red and purple actually seem very similar in color, so that's part of why it didn't seem to layer on top as much. It mixed with the similar red and created an in-between of the shades. So in that sense it's doing its job correctly lol

@@Acidfunkish just the small colourful, i dont like it either... But that is like a complementary palette for the original one. I recomend the loose powder, it is just a dream, as thin as sugar glass, dont change the concealer's colour, dont make the skin dried (i have súper dry skin), and the tool is wonderful... The duo blush is unique, so pretty, and i am un love with the lip products. There is a lot of things. PS: do not buy the higligthers of the brand if you are not a fan of glItter, so powefull but chonky PS2: i checked and yes, some of the Big regular palettes have one... It is a generalized problema in all brands, so i tend to omit it... I guess someone has to like it but i dont understand

Red velvet cake is basically chocolate cake with red food coloring. Although I must say even though it seems impossible it tastes completely different without the food coloring. And I dont think it tastes like regular chocolate cake. It has always been a big thing in my family especially during Christmas.

Wow, this eye looks that you're rocking is just sublime! I really like the colours in the palette, they're gorgeous. I have eaten some red velvet cupcakes and they're were ok but nothing life changing; I do wonder why there is not one very deep red colour in this palette because red velvet cakes most of the time - at least the ones I've seen - are very dark red in colour, almost like blood. But what do I know, maybe there's colour variations to these cakes.

I don't think Huda Beauty runs deep as much as most brands run light. Red Velvet is exactly that. Chocolate with a ridiculous amount of red dye. Originally it was slightly red due to the acid found naturally in cocoa powder but nowadays most cocoa powders are alkalized (Dutch processed) removing the red tinge. Between the processing of cocoa powder and the aesthetic of bright red cake more and more red dyes have been added. When I make Red Velvet (it's is a friends favourite) I generally use 1/8 to 1/4 of the red dye called for. It tastes the same and isn't as costly or bad for you. Although I am confused at to why Glamlite named the palette Red Velvet as it is a pink-purple palette.

My experience with red velvet was in Stockholm: Mr Cake does a red velvet croissant. It was great but half a croissant was enough! It was so rich. Worth checking out next time you are over that way.

I could definitely see some patchiness on the outer edge of your left eye (right eye for the viewer) towards the end. Reminded me of subculture where the shadows look great on their own but there are issues trying to layer and blend different shades together. I feel like this palette is missing a cream and a deep maroon or blackened red type shade to get the full red velvet effect.

This is basically a pink palette with one red. I just dont think red velvet cake when I see this palette. The actual cake is like a dark maroonish color with a cream colored icing. I think it should've had those colors plus some reds and pinks.
