But I greatly appreciate your voice on this and especially the bits about grace. I have highly encouraged from the beginning that people give creators time to find this info. Not only that, it can be triggering for content creators and it may take them some time to form thoughts. Again. Thank you.

Thank you for talking about ensley reign, most people are keeping it in stories or comments. Videos are important! It was a pattern of following extremist pages and liking their content against trans people. It was not a tomboy thing, thats what they tried to reduce it to for the people who wouldnt look further. That was a deflection. Their issue is still giving extended approval to anti trans rhetoric while profiting off LGBT creators who have created their revenue. Its a crazy position to put yourself in as a brand, and until they apologize for that specifically, i think its a deflection. I appreciate your perspective angie! Very constructive

Hearing this today has shocked me tbh, i am straight but for me i dont see labels i see the person x if i like you its because of who you are not what you are, if that makes sense. I think it is massively important for any public figure, celebrity, world leaders/politicians and brand owners to keep a very non offensive front. I appreciate your very mature and thoughtful opinion on the topic. Much love from Bonnie Scotland x and i ordered your palette and brushes and paid the crazy shipping cause i wanted it now lol xx

I was sure many people would be confused by the DM vault, and to answer the question "who's this for?" - ME (and not only haha)! I adore the concept and I quite honestly find it an extremely useful purchase. As someone who works with cosplay, larp and overall extravagant looks that portray more fantasy-based characters, this is perfect. DM's paints are very long lasting, do not crease and work incredibly for such stuff. And while I know that the majority of the consumers wouldn't be interested in it, welp... that's the point. 😅 It's a limited edition, limited stock, extremely expensive (while worth it) thing that is meant exactly for the people that have waited for it, not for everyone. Some things are just designed for a more of a niche audience, rather than a mass purchase. ❤️

Sorry to do this to you but you might want to just get rid of the palette altogether. They're also ableist, anti-vx, used a slur against Romani as their previous brand name (and still maintain that domain name) and sold palettes for $88.88. (8th letter = H. Think about a guy with a name starting with H who bad people say "Heil" to).

Thank you for speaking on ER. I saw their post with an ‘apology’ that was partly copied from the statement from Titanium foxes. They asked input from the community in that post because they claim to wanna learn. It hasn’t been a day and they closed the comments. What they do, is now more important than what they say. It isn’t the job of the community to teach them inclusivity. They have to do that work themselves and show us what they learned on that journey. If their brand is inclusive like they claim, they could unblock the people who criticized them and listen to it, show looks from minorities, collab with them, donate to a charity that supports that community, keep their comment section safe… What I see them doing at the moment is making an insincere apology without quoting the inspiration for it and asking for input so they can learn while closing the comments… That’s not a good start.

Oh wow, as a trans person, thank you for talking about the ER thing, I had no idea. Thank you even more for actually talking to the owner about it, you honestly weren't obligated to, but it means a lot. I had already decided not to support the brand because of her use of AI packaging art that is clearly stolen from artist account scraping. She hosted a discussion about it months ago on her IG and seemed disturbingly unwilling or unable to understand how using AI programs didn't make her an "artist". There were also a lot of VERY hostile and insulting people commenting that were blatantly attacking anyone who questioned her, whose posts she liked throughout the discussion. I got personally cussed out by a few of them for politely trying to explain how what the owner was doing was deeply unethical, only to then watch those posts get liked by the owner. She eventually released a statement saying she would commission actual artists for packaging in the future, did one palette in this style, and then proceeded to go right back to using stolen AI art. Being transphobic on top of all that is really just the shitty cherry on top of the garbage cake.

Thank you for speaking on the ER situation, Angie. As a trans masc, I'm very disappointed in the brand. I'll continue to use the palettes I already bought as to not be wasteful but I no longer support them. I didn't know you were bisexual! Always nice to discover my favourite creators are part of the community 😊 To those of you who think its nbd because the posts she was liking were from a woman talking about her experiences as a tomboy: she was talking about how hormones are harmful and to stop "transing" tomboys. No one is "transing" tomboys. There is a difference between a tomboy and a trans boy. That woman is transphobic and has extremeist views. It's unacceptable. Hormones are life saving and as a trans person, I'm not out here trying to "trans" feminine men or masculine women. That's just not happening. Stop fearmongering and using that as an excuse to hate us. Support who you want, but I'll remember the people that chose some pretty eyeshadow over the acceptance of others.

The ensley reign controversy sounds a lot like the bud light beer 🍺 controversy. I just wish this brands just sell is there products and nothing more. In situations like this everyone loses. It’s really short sided for any brand to link their account to something negative or even controversial. I think there’s a place and time for expressing your opinions, since this a free country but it is sad when those opinions are not constructive or helpful and just are a divisive. I did not see what they liked their corporate account to but I hope they learn from this and detach themselves from hate accounts and apologize. Makeup 💄 should be a safe space for everyone.

In 2016 I was working as a Personal Consultant (events and different malls and Department Stores) for Clinique and they didn’t come out with a highlighter until they did ‘they year of’ Chinese symbols. That was years after I left. I wonder if they are still doing those year of highlighters. Angie - I saw actual videos of what somebody on the Ensley Reign page said, (several rants) about anti-trans, I was so disappointed. I’m not sure if that is the owner though. That may have been somebody that had the ability to use the account. After the words they said, if that person is no longer on the team and they do change, I will give them a chance. I just want everybody to be their best life and I believe in choices. I can’t say I am an ally if I support them right now. Thank you for showing grace though. You shouldn’t ever feel compelled to address anything before you are ready.

Exactly “I can’t say that I’m an ally if I support them right now” they won’t be seeing a penny from me

I've been saying for years that mainstream brands are literally just clicking on a product on a website, ordering a mass quantity and calling it a day. Then shipping it to the desperate influencers for cheap advertising. I am just saying.

The Danessa Myricks vault could be a useful thing for eye artists or lip artists or face artists, if they prefer working with paints like these. I personally prefer liquid lipsticks, and I remember buying the Nyx liquid suede minis vault of 30 colours (they were only missing greens and yellows, but had all the other tones), and it was one of the best investments at the time - I was using each and every colour depending on the lip painting I was doing.

Hi, Angie! Hope you had a wonderful Christmas. Here in Brazil we celebrate at the night of 24 às well. Some coments… I still have my very old urban decay blushes. They are amazing. Clinique’s makeup is very underated I think. Just like laura Mercier, laura Geller And bobbi brown. They have solid very reliable formulas. The thing is that they don’t release trendy products all the time, but the regular line is very good. Love your makeup look! ❤

If you haven’t tried the Catrice plumping lip liners, they are great (no pain!).

the only way I could ever see myself buying a vault is if I had a group of friends and we all agreed beforehand which shades everyone gets haha.

Dont understand the hype for Natasha Denona; to me she’s like Apple products where ppl are willing to buy her stuff regardless of the price/if there is better out there. Everyone is so excited for her little matte quint but no one batted an eye when elf released the I love you a latte quad with almost the exact same shades

Let's recap what I've learned about Ensley Reign: they had a brand name using the G-word for Romani, while not being Romani and still keep that domain name reserved, despite this being called out a year ago, Phyrra Nyx has pointed out they had palettes sell for 88.88. If you don't know what that means, look it up. Um and they're ableist and anti-vx, not just TEs.

I agree with what you're saying to an extent because at the same time you can't expect people to behave as we would you know and if they like a post or something who are we to say anything on how they feel about something only thing we can do is stay in control of our actions and try to educate and move on all of us are human and have the right to feel however we feel

Angie, I really appreciate your level headed thoughts, your words and what you feel regarding the situation with Ensley Reign. I agree with everything you said, I truly do. I have always believed in the best in people and I know that people make mistakes. Some mistakes can and are horrible, they can affect so many people and communities and how they feel. I was truly shocked by the news. I never got that vibe or feeling from the brand. Did I want to cuss and yell in the comment sections, of course. I’m a part of all communities! I just knew it wouldn’t be good for my mental health or anyone else’s. Everyone that knows me knows I don’t agree with Ensley Reign and the owner at all! I really wanted a perspective from someone who knows the brand and the owner. You are able to give us that! I sincerely appreciate everything that you talked about. I also agree with what you are doing right now with the brand and the owner! Everyone has the right to their opinions and thoughts if they decide to let Ensley Reign grow and change from this terrible situation and see what they do I’m good with that. I also understand if people don’t ever support or purchase from them again. I can see all sides of this situation. Im not going to argue with anyone or cuss because that only causes more pain. I also don’t have the same relationship with Ensley Reign that you do. I’m so sorry you received hate Angie. We all need to give more people grace! We need to treat others how we want to be treated. I do agree that we are all capable of growth and change! I will see what Ensley Reign does but they have a very long road ahead of them. I believe true change doesn’t happen overnight, in a week, a month and so on. Thank you again for your in depth conversation and where you stand. I am going to take the approach that you are! I hope everyone is having a good day even with the heaviness that a lot of us are feeling right now not just with the Ensley Reign situation. Sending out positive energy, love and light to everyone ❤

Hi - I am looking at a few brands for their next releases. I am not sure if anything you discussed will be for me. I am excited for Glaminatrix releases, as I would like to try the brand sometime in the future. In January, I'm doing a no buy 3 month period - I need time to see what is released for my own sanity. As for ER, they also liked posts that disputed the validity of mental illness/healthcare, etc. It was very sad, I was very upset. I understand the hope they will do better, and I want that too. At this time, I am also stepping back and unfollowing them, etc.

I feel like studs never left. I got the gold case of Valentino lipstick in red, and love it. Especially since it’s magnetic which seems to be normal these days for higher end brands. Or maybe because I was born in 82, I just seek out studded things. Lots of jackets w studs on them that I’ve had for a handful of years that were trendy.
