Wikipedia: Unchained Melody is a song written by Alex North (music) and Hy Zaret (lyrics), and it was first released in 1955 as the soundtrack and theme song for the film Unchained, hence the name. The film is about an inmate in a prison who is in the dilemma of whether he should escape or serve out his sentence so that he can be reunited with his loved one. And...her grandma is an iranian woman!

I just realize: now it is 10 years ago that Angelina blew all Norwegians (and shortly after many more people) away with her unforgettable rendition of "Gloomy Sunday" as a tiny 7 year old. Angelina and KORK truly are a match made in Heaven! These are among the very best musicians in Norway, as any good pair of ears can tell. Also, the arrangement is just perfect. Listen to the crescendo at 1:50 and the absolute silence at 3:02 - that is the dynamic range you need for an Angelina performance. Talking about range, her voice has never been richer at the low end, but it is the breath control and sheer confidence from 4:04 onwards when she soars to that final G5 that really stands out to me here. Probably her best performance to date, live on a major stage.

What more can be said about this young lady? What an astounding talent and vocalist! She really has become a legitimate international diva in every way. I've been critical of some of her performances in the past but there is no denying her talent and unique voice. There is no one else like her in the world. Not to mention she has become such a gorgeous young woman. I can't wait to see what she does next.
