Wolf, you are one of those ;) I appreciate you giving it a little time after the drop to let it settle in on her channel. All that out of the way... How 'bout this song!!! She never disappoints! I just can't imagine anyone not liking this song. Thanks for taking a deep look at the lyrics. Her lyric ability is really growing to match her vocal ability. She writes songs that are deep and make you think...and in the end, you always come away with a positive message. LOL, You weren't expecting that, were you? I think I've listened to nearly 50 reaction so far, and they all have two things in common. Everyone says it was too short, and EVERYONE moves to the beat. Even I want to get up and dance, and I can't dance at all. I hope this song gets promoted heavily, because it, and most other songs Angelina does, reaches all ages, but especially this song. She gives us some Jazz/Soul and a bit of Pop, and it's pure Angelina. I hope I can see her in concert before I die, and I hope that when Republic releases her first album, they offer it on vinyl. It would be the "Crown Jewel" of my collection.

you probably won't be able to follow that song on your guitar on the same pitch, the song's in a very difficult key, lol :-) I very much enjoyed your reaction and your take on the lyrics. Not many analyze the lyrics as thorough as you do, but I agree that the lyrics are just as important as the music, because ideally they correlate with each other. E. g. it surely is no coincidence that she slid up with her voice when she sang "hope", or I take it that the heavy bass is a symbolism for something that lies "heavy on someone's shoulders". At the same time the song's upbeat and radiates confidence and positive vibes, which, when thinking of 7th heaven and hope, is the main point of the song. The mastery lies within those small details in the way she composed the song and the way she articulates every word. When she sings "slowly fading" the duration of the notes are longer for instance. In the end, when she sings about the "bitterness" and that we "can't do anything about it" she also didn't do much musically wise, the instruments are thinned out and she cuts the words with glottal stops as to demonstrate that she doesn't put much emphasis (weight, significance) on these words. During the verse about the lack of strength, power and unfulfilled miracles the contrabass drops out for a moment, which is a way to express the line "there's nothing in you", however only after when it says "you have to let go" the bass kicks in again and the music "picks up the pace" (subjectively). I take it that "7th heaven" stands for bliss and is right in front of us. That's probably why she sang the word "7th heaven" literally right after the previous line "right in front of your eyes", there's no pause/gap between those words; if I heard correctly she even did "back phrasing" there as she sang the word a tad ahead of the beat. In my opinion the meaning of "7th heaven" lies in your perception of life, life can be bliss or sorrow, it depends on how you look at it, just like the way you look at yourself in the mirror. "7th Heaven" is similar to the "sky" in my opinion. Sometimes the sky shines, sometimes it rains, there's even the idiom "the sky is falling" (I'm also reminded of the song "Skyfall" by Adele). The sky is like fate, you can't change it, fate can be heavy on your shoulders. You can't change the look of yourself, you can't create a miracle, but what you can change is your perspective! Your hope might defy fate. You can accept and love yourself for who you are and your life might turn to the better. "Live should be lived with hope" after all. The idea of "7th heaven" and "sorrow" standing side by side, just like two sides of a coin, you just gotta flip it (change your perspective), is reflected in the middle of the song, when she sings "sadness" and "7th heaven" with two voices simultaneously! The lyrics and the music are both structured symmetrically. This is pure art. Props to Angelina.

For Angelina (and I think it likely that these lyrics are quite personal to her) her 7th heaven is singing, and singing for the whole world. Getting to that blissful happy place (where our dreams reside) isn't easy and she sees the related obstacles (and they fall heavy on her shoulders). That weight, that tension to not compromise, to not take the easy path of fluffy pop songs and skimpy clothes in order gain popularity is the harder path she is willing to walk. She is hopeful, not bitter, not sad. She is taking the high road. She'll get there. What an awesome message and piece of artistry (lyrically and musically) delivered as only she can!

I think she is recognizing that her life is a lot of people's version of "7th Heaven"; i.e. life could not be better; she has nothing to complain about. But, there is a weight (falls heavy) to that (i.e. pressure to meet expectations, or impatience that things are not happening as fast as she would like), and she has to keep reminding herself to not let that distract her from staying focused on the things that REALLY matter in her life.. to like the person she sees in the mirror and enjoy life.

Hi Ollie! Thanks for encouraging people to go watch the video in Angelina's channel and subscribing to it 😊 What a song, right? It came as a total surprise for me, a wonderful surprise. This beat, this rhythm is incredible. So jazzy, so funky and yet with very deep lyrics as Angelina always writes. All her songs have a profound meaning. Nothing you would expect from a 15 year old these days. I share your feeling of being overwhelmed having seen her growing up into the beautiful young lady she is and the great musician she's become! 7th heaven... oh, my. In some religions it means the ultimate state of bliss. Translated to a musical career it could be attaining fame or notoriety which can be a weight on the person's "shoulders". One thing not many people realize is that she wrote this song last year, not long after AGTC. So the bitterness she's talking about could be her own. And that when she realized that she had to let go, to live in the moment, everything was better. Her mind was clear of all those negative feelings. Life goes on and it is up to each of us to decide how to live it: with bitterness or with hope ;)

Hi Wolf Rock I'm really happy to see your fantastic reaction and analysis with this fantastic song Angelina's. I love this extraordinary melting between her voice, always more mature, warm and powerful, the really deep and bluesy lyrics and the old jazz style atmosphere. She has acquired a style which, by mixing all her sources of inspiration, is increasingly unique and fascinating, I absolutely love it. Angelina is absolutely a blues soul, she sings melancholy, pain, loneliness, love, hope, in an absolutely special and unique way. Take a pinch of Amy, Adele, Billie, Etta, Aretha, Whitney plus a few splashes of some great male singers, mix it all up, distill it and here's an Angelina's pure blend. She have style that, despite the many sources of inspiration, is increasingly unique and fascinating. Your opinion concerning the respect that is due to the artist being more important than the quick superior number of views that a diligent reactor can gain by reacting as soon as a new song is posted or released is based on an elegant and generous spirit of discernment and wisdom that honors you, Wolf Rock. I would add that your practice of reading the lyrics before listening twice to the musical part of the song shows that your reactions are always the result of a clear understanding of the value of the performance and of the merits of the artist. The new single of Angelina, although way too short, is a stunning piece of jazz with which Angelina is very familiar since it bears the exact color, tempo, energy, vibration and frequency of the music that reigns in her. In my opinion, it is partly on that fertile ground of bluesy soulful cool jazz that she should continue for awhile to distinguish herself from other vocalists, to excel in her individual field and to prosper. I subscribe entirely to your views and analysis. I wish you 30K subs by the middle of April.

My 2 cents, is that Angelina continues to take us along with her on her lifes journey. I think of her song What is Life, where I believe she was in 7th Heaven (pure bliss), sitting at the piano, creating paintings like her grandma, feeding birds with her little sister, life was beautiful. She was singing about her life at the time. Then fast forward, it would be interesting to know when she wrote this, pre AGT or post AGT. Quite a bit has happened in her life since then. The passing of her grandfather. AGT, signing with a major record label, everything put on hold (pandemic), wow that's a lot! 7th Heaven on my shoulder falls heavy. That's my 2 cents Olly, looking forward to what your take is. The one thing for certain is that her music continues to bring joy to the hearts of many. Now we know for a certainty that Angelina is not going to abandon her jazz roots! She’s staying true to her early influences like Billie Holiday, Dinah Washington, Etta James, Ella Fitzgerald, and Amy Winehouse. There's no mistaking the artist singing this song. Angie has forged a unique style and sound over many years, regardless of the genre, regardless of the song. It's her! I can't wait to see a live performance of this, and also so many of her greatest to come. Angie's my daily dosage since I found this treasure in 2015. As I said in a previous comment, the Jazz Queen is back! IMO, this is the third time Angie has addressed the burdens of her quest to “sing for the world” in her songs. In “Shield” it was, “forgive me for all that I am.” In “Million Miles” it was, “I’ll never regret what I do.” And now, it’s the whole song with lyrics like, “Don’t give up cause it’s right in front of your eyes,” and “Seventh heaven on my shoulders falls heavy. Sometimes I feel all my dreams are slowly fading” Also, “Sometimes I wanna be powerful, gotta find the strength within me. Sometimes you look for miracle but there’s nothing in you.” Yes, this IMO, is about Angie, but also a strong message to others with the lyric, “LIfe should be lived with hope.” So, IMO this is yet another example that Angie’s songwriting has true meaning to her, and is a message to us all.

Can you comprehend the complexity of life that AJ has already experienced. Her goal is to rise to superstardom(7th Heaven). Every minute of every day is filled with work (research, memorization, practice(vocals, piano) and I'm sure I haven't got half of her schedule). I believe she does all these things with a great deal of love but also an enormous amount of discipline Then, a time comes along when she has to face rejection. As a committed artist what does she feel when someone says, NO! It's mind boggling. A deep feeling of hatred(bitterness) can consume your soul if you allow it to. What I know about 7th Heaven is in simple terms, the highest of all the levels of Heaven. It can be loosely used as a label for a place of highest achievement. When I first heard AJ sing this song, I got shivers in my bones. It actually scared me. My reaction was filled with concern because I believe I heard a little girl crying in the corner of a very dark room. But no one would ever know, because she has publicly presented herself as a true bundle of living legend. I don't know the facts from fiction or pure speculation. I hope to learn more from those who are very close to her. I hope my message of doom is debunked.

The man is back 🤘 Nice to see you back again on the train Ollie, I knew you would love this one. Really nice to hear what a respect you have for the artist when you wait with your reaction. It might be smart as well, you wont drown in the ones that is in a hurry. "I den syvende himmel", Norwegian for "in the 7th Heaven", it is about the ultimate happiness, like when you are newly in love, or your first child.

Yes, that at "sound of the diamond point in the groove of an old vinyl disc" just perfectly in the mood and you do what all of us do: listen again and again. 😋 It's amazing how she captures the sense of music, the sense of words, the sense of the soul and gives them back in such a deep way: awesome! 🥰 The comment of soundofdakota suits her perfectly: "The talent of this Girl is Freaking insane!" 🤩

You said Angelina is bringing back jazz, well 2:45 is 78rpm format Records. If you listen carefully you can also hear the vinyl crackle under the music at the start of the record, as well as at the end. Hidden meanings.

This girl has life wisdom way way beyond her years . Such a awesome Artist. Mind blowing . You asked about 7th heaven. Well Angelina is from 5 cultures & she's travelled the world from a very young age. But since she is at the moment living in America I think she be meaning the place where you are happier than you ever thought you could be your in 7th heaven. 7th heaven is also the dwelling place of God & his most exiled angels We're he sits on his throne surrounded by Angels singing his praises 24 7

If you listen to her read her Diary about why she doesn't wear shoes when she performs, kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y5SmfXePZaiGkJo, after she gave her shoes to the other little girl she says her heart opened up and was filled with light, as if there was from Earth to Heaven a staircase, she climbed up the stairs and felt, to be able to do something for another human was such a big thing, it was hard to describe. She wrote this when she was six. Look at the Cover in front of you, discover the meaning of the color of the roses, and is that "threatening" cactus an Aloe Vera? Just like in her songs , she does these things deliberately. It's impossible to imagine being in her shoes, she doesn't wear any. 7th Heaven on her shoulders falls heavy. She has my utmost respect and love.

I feel like this song is talking about the struggle of wanting to be a great artist, and fulfilling her promise, both for herself and the expectations of others. Especially when you want something so much, and you can't seem to get there, and people expect you to do amazing things, but sometimes it doesn't play out the way you expect, as life throws you curveballs.

I think she feels the weight of others exceptation for her and how many close to her are relying on her to succeed ,, and yet she is only a child of 15. All the lyrics of all her own song express some of this concern of heavy pressure placed by her by her self . She dose not need to abandon her roots of jazz but at some point she need to sing something pop for all the name recognition .every big name singer has gone that way ,, all of them

Wolf Rock thanks for your very nice reaction with reading the lyrics to this inspiring song by Angelina. The Barefoot Angel opened the gate to the 7th Heaven and took us with her inside to a wonderful and a worry free world. Angelina, the following poem by Rumi the great Persian poet, mystic, and Sufi was written about you centuries ago: “O heart, I cannot explain you, you are what you are. But I know this much that now you are tearing apart the curtain of the heavens like the sun.”

Great reaction. I don't think anyone saw this coming, but wow.... You ask about 7th Heaven - I think back to the interview on Skavlan when she was 12 years old, two things: 1. When you sing you don't sound like a 12yr old, do you feel like a 12 yr old? - Only when I look at my passport. - In this song she wants to look in the mirror and feel able to love the 15 yr old looking back at her. 2.When I see you on stage, who do you feel you become? - When I sing I go to another world, it's endless, full of happiness. - In this song this could be the endless bliss of 7th Heaven...

I think the 7th Heaven reference is to Angie's goal which I believe she now knows is inevitable. She has also referenced the knowledge of the weight of the responsibility that comes with such power. She now knows that her GIFT is not without consequence. Her every action is scrutinized. With all the love and support we give her it is really only her family that keeps her from feeling alone. Being so gifted and special has a price and I most certainly hope to help her deal with it.

7th Heaven is on my shoulders falls heavy -- If the 7th heaven is on her shoulders, then it must refer to her head, or what's in it. I think it refers to the 7th chakra, which is in the middle of the forehead. It is called the single-eye. I've actually seen Angelina wearing the single-eye medallion around her neck in one or two of her videos.
@charlesmiller65103 жыл бұрын
now that's interesting.... I'll keep my 'eye' out for that in her videos.

Yes Wolfrock I kind of put two and two together and think I’m probably right on this one. Her grandmother is Iranian and a big influence on Angelina and no doubt familiar with Islam, so (especially in Islam and the Cabala) The highest heaven, where God and the most exalted angels dwell. And the more common secular version definition( A state of intense happiness, bliss.) Pedro Aybar’s comment may have some validity here. He’s a few comments down below mine I think.

Nice reaction as allways. I wonder if the 7th heaven that falls hard on her shoulders is the burden of fame. Everyone expect that she must allready be in that heaven of happiness since she is so successfull and talented. But she is just a girl with dreams and hopes like the rest of us and must fight for it without loosing her self.. Just a thaught..😉

Hi WR, you did a great reaction etc etc, God super blessed Angie. What I get out of it is that 7th Heaven is completeness, & having complete happiness & fellowship with God (but that will always be limited through ourselves but not through God for that will be complete & complete freedom with & through our Lord Jesus Christ. For when you give all to him you're free from bitterness, etc etc. (just like what John 3:16 says) This genre is kind of jazz/soul/R&B/pop. Actually Angie made a new genre her patented Jazzy/pop. Her Angie style. Lets get out there & promote Angie's song, ask for it on your local radio stations, tell friends, relatives & neighbors etc etc, or it will end up like her last great single. Yes she has always written her own songs & lyrics & sometimes, she'll get help on translations for English isn't her 1st language & sometimes for word placements etc etc. Stargate also produced this. Angelina said it herself. “Life has ups and downs, and you always have to be ready for whatever is coming up. The song is a reminder to look at everything in a positive light and not get down on yourself. Most importantly-no matter what you’re doing-don’t give up. It’s also meant to make you dance.” She smiles.

Yes, Angelina is the most complete young artist we have in the world today! Many who sing well, but we can ask them if they can switch credibly between jazz, edm, pop, country, and classical music in no time. In addition to her beautiful voice, you also have a unique communication ability. After Angelina has sung a cover song, I rather continue on her and forget the original artist. And she's still only 15 years old.
