The first time I heard her was December 2019 when I just happened to come across her video of "I Put a Spell on You" at age 9, and I've been under that "spell" ever since! If there is a "Love Potion #9" (as an old song goes) to make someone have a grandfatherly type of love for a girl he's never even met, I drank it! I'm 68 and hope I'm around a bit longer to see her career explode onto the worldwide scene!

It's a lyrical prayer of gratitude to God for the reassurance of His love and confirmation of our being worthwhile to Him. AJ typically kicks it up another notch on the second verses, but never ever over sings them. When together with Ivan she is always 12 years old. He said in the Alan Papier interview he still cherishes the time they had together making these home videos (2 or 3 per session) and hopes to someday play for her again. He said her whole family were all warm and loving and great fun to be around. You can see that in her mom, Sara, in how she interacts with musicians and fans at concerts, events, etc.

She takes a 'Gold Standard' original by Adele that was fantastic, then decides to record it on the spur of the moment with her friend Ivan on guitar. Neither were fully familiar with the song so Ivan just follows her lead and she reads the lyrics off a tablet at her side, arranges it to her preference, and proceed's to release a rendition that has more emotion laden penetration than Adele. It's insane.......but it's true. There is no one who can sing a heartfelt ballad on a level with this girl with the only exception being her musical mentor Billie Holiday, who basically taught her all the finer points of emotional singing.

She is so good that I believe she will rewrite Music History and become a Music Legend. Adele is one of the best but nobody can emit the emotion and soul of a song like Angelina. I think she reads the lyrics first before listening to the song. In this way she can understand the feeling and emotion the artist wants to convey. Then she arranges it to be able to dramatically convey the feeling and emotion to us. She takes iconic songs and makes them Angelina songs. Her vocals, tones and smokiness do the rest. She is already The Greatest of All Time! Just amazing!!

Ivan Mendez who was her guitarist when she first moved to LA stated in an interview that she and her family would call and invite him over, When he arrived they would eat and talk for a while then the two of them would discuss different songs and when one came up that she wanted to sing he would run thru it to get the music right then she would tell him to just follow her and off they would go! He said that very seldom did they do a second take and when they did it was because he messed up, not her! She would sing like she had done the song a 1000 times all the while reading the lyrics as she sang! If you watch him in the songs they did together you can see the pleasure, admiration, and disbelief in his face in every one of them. Oh, and this was the period when she was 12/13 and when she did some of her best work!

I love the way you can react with your daughter and at the same time give your focus to Angelina, I love your easygoing way, I want to be more like that. It reminds me of a video of Angelina where she is singing "La Boheim" and her sister is with her trying to get Angelina's attention. Angelina gives her attention without missing a note of the song, even to the point Juliet is playing with Angelina's ear, but Angelina showed her sister love and kept on singing.

No one covers Adele’s songs like Angelina does. Even at this age of twelve years old, Angelina’s vocal capabilities, techniques and skills are more advanced and sophisticated than Adele’s are. Adele is a good singer, but I prefer to listen to Angelina sing Adele’s songs because she moves me. Adele doesn’t.
