A few things here. Iven Mendes her guitarist said many oy these recordings were done with little or no rehearsal. You can see her here reading the lyrics. Iven said her family was exceedingly kind and he is clearly captivated by her abilities. You can see it in his face.

I have never been able to pick a favorite Angelina song because she covers so much musical territory so beautifully. But I can say that when I heard this song the first time, I realized Angelina, at 12, was the best singer I ever heard. Her voice, but especially her interpretation of these melancholy lyrics, takes this to a level Adele cannot reach. Adele’s songwriting is absolutely great, but she doesn’t have the vocal tools Angelina does. No one does, in my opinion.

After seeing her on AGT, I began checking her out on KZbin. When I heard this cover I became hooked for life. From note one I was mesmerized and my Angelina journey truly began and continues to this day. Her voice is beyond describing really....its amazing, captivating, unique, powerful, tender, emotional, etc, etc....and yet much more. I literally watch something of hers or a reaction to her every day. I can watch a video I've seen dozens of times and STILL get goosebumps listening to it again. I feel blessed she shares her talent.

This rendition, IMO, is among the BEST interpretations of lyrics that Angelina has performed...the emotions she adds to the lines bring them to life, to the heart of each one she moves. There are times it sounds like she's one breath away from crying...another time, she's filled with angst when singing "I miss my mother, I miss my friends", and pours out what regret sounds like when you're weighed down by not being where you aimed to be. Her rendition is beyond textbook excellence. I've lost count of how many times I've heard this, and yet, each is like the first time; tears well up on cue... ...Then, when I've become a near blubbering fool, she pipes up with a (Chirpy Bird cheerful voice), a huge smile, and says "Bye!!!"....are you KIDDING me?!?!?!?? His name is Ivan Mendez. Before she moved it was Egil Clausen here in Norway. He played with her from she was 7, and they are still good friends. Love from Norway ♥♥♥♥♥

Angelina will always bring more emotion laden penetration to heartfelt ballads than Adele. Adele is great but she's a non-jazz singer and just can't match a true jazz specialist like Angelina doing songs like this. she was musically mentored by the most improvisational singer of all time, that being the great Billie Holiday. Listen to Billie's catalog of music and you will realize all that Angelina has taken from her concerning phrasing, nuance, inflections, breathy releases and a plethora of other musical facets. No wonder that Angelina said this about Billie in an interview she gave Nadia Neophytou. 'I have to say if it wasn't for the unconditional love that came from Billie Holiday's legendary music, THERE WOULD NOT BE ANGELINA JORDAN TODAY'. She then added, 'I am very blessed that her music found me very early'. She has heard all the great singers of all time, but 'only' Billie is placed by her at the top of the musical pedestal, above all others.
