Just listened to both Angelina’s and Ariana Grande’s version of this song. Whilst Ariana’s version is similar in style to Aretha’s and she is without doubt a world class singer, I have to say Angelina’s version is so much more emotive, personal and communicative! Ariana’s leaves you respecting her vocal skill and you are definitely entertained….. but I didn’t feel anything! When Angelina sings (anything), feeling is the first reaction you get, this is where she is so absolutely amazing, she communicates with us the listeners so well with her voice, it’s honest, modest, personal and totally comforting and takes her performance to another level. Ariana is a great singer, Angelina is an unbelievable artist, and therein lies all the difference in the world! Ariana will have fans, but Angelina will have followers! Angelina is going to be remembered as the greatest female vocalist in history of that I am certain, and she hasn’t even got going yet! I also think she will be credited with bringing jazz back into fashion single handedly, what a legacy, what an honour!

Having made this tribute just days after Aretha's death, I always thought the peaceful, respectful delivery she gave here was absolute perfection. ...but on top of that, I just realized that the end of this video is an intentional 'fade to black' and a moment of silence. Also genius is the fact that she perfected the original Carole King version rather than try to "best" Aretha Franklin's version. Shows great taste artistically …. and once again it's a song better than the original!

A sober and respectful tribute posted 3 days after the death of Aretha Franklin (August 16, 2018) by a 12-years-old girl who loved and respected her. She didn't try to emulate her. It wouldn't have been appropriate in the circumstances. She just made a sensitive version of one of her greatest hit. The abrupt fade away and silence at the end of the video was also a nice touch.

This blows my mind, not because of her vocals, but because of her understanding of music, her way of interpretation at the age of 12?! The tranquility and simplicity of the song showcase the 'tiredness' at first, and later the happiness of being accepted as a 'natural woman', which is expressed in this song. There are many very good young singers, BUT what is unique about Angelina that makes her the best by far, is she does not need to resort to tricks, or complicated Wow techniques to sound really good. Using an analogy from Classical Piano, she'd be a Chopin, whose music is simple yet more beautiful because of the simplicity. She is not a musical talent, she's a musical genius.

Carole King and Gerry Goffin co-wrote this song with AF, and in my opinion, Carole King performed it the best. But what a wonderful rendition from Angelina! I find that AF comes a dismal 3rd place. All she does is screech and scream her songs out. This here and CK's performances, are done quietly and with truckloads of emotion and feeling. AF just relied on volume.

I can't even begin to describe... the words needed to descibe her hasn't been invented by mankind yet and have never been uttered by any tongue. if you wanted me - a life long atheist to be religious it would be by telling me this is Jesus reborn as a young woman come to save us once more and give us one more chance through music. She is beyond what science can explain. She is gonna be more famous than Elvis Presley, Beatles, Ghandi and Albert Einstein combined. She disproves einsteins theories simply by singing she can stop time take us 80 years back and back to the future with the speed of sound. We need a new way to calculate and count our years with year 0 starting when that girl sang for the first time. We are not worthy and will be forever grateful for every song she will sing for us.
