What is the difference in Jazz and pop! With pop you can tell a story, with jazz you can add so much more feeling and emotion that if done right (as AJ always does) the story comes to life full of emotion! Listen to the music video pop version then listen to this version and the difference comes to life! And NO ONE alive today sings JAZZ the way nor as good as the QUEEN of JAZZ Angelina Jordan!!

Thank you, she was fed jazz instead of milk, it is in her veins, the depth in her voice and the feeling that pours out of her, our elite storyteller in all her Majesty. An AJ masterpiece and masterclass just love it and her. I would like AJ on my voice mail so I could ring myself up when I need an AJ fix.💜👣😇

I can relate to “Angelina conjures up emotion and I trip over myself” trying to explain the feeling 😂Because that’s how many of us feel. Her style tone and emotive techniques leave us speechless too. This is her best version of any original so far and Grammy worthy ❤

The difference in the interpretation of the lyrics and emotion between this masterpiece and the original pop version is that in the pop version it was more sass and empowerment and in this version there is more remorse in the ending of the relationship. Great reaction.

I'm guessing that as you listen, you write your story in your mind ❤ for me the use of the term Valentine is Romantic state of mind. The person she's singing to believes that he has to be agreeable, even smiling when he is hurt, it's not for her. She wants someone who hears her, who is honest and real. And by the way I listened all the way to the end 😂

I get what’s happening in this song. I have been where she is in the story she is telling. Sometimes there comes along someone that wants more from you than you can give them. You try to tell them that it doesn’t work for you but they don’t listen. So you have to up the ante, and go directly for it. That’s what this does. There is no doubt that it ain’t gonna happen.

AJ’s Vibrato: Angelina Jordan's vibrato is indeed remarkable, often described as soulful and mature beyond her years. Her ability to control the vibrato, a technique where the pitch of the note varies in a pulsating manner, adds a unique texture and emotional depth to her performances. This technique is not easily mastered, especially at a young age, making her talent all the more impressive. Her renditions of classic songs have been praised for their originality and emotional resonance, which is greatly enhanced by her distinctive vibrato.

BAD VALENTINE (Piano Diaries)%%%%%%%%%%% A slower, jazzier rendition of "Bad Valentine" (Please support Angelina Jordan by purchasing “Bad Valentine (Piano Diaries)”, I got my copy when it first dropped on all the music platforms, as MP3, on Amazon for 99 cents.) A Grammy for AJ & Toby! The collaboration between Angelina Jordan and Toby Gad on the jazz-infused version of "Bad Valentine" has indeed created a buzz in the music community. This rendition strips down the original composition, allowing Jordan's rich, soulful voice to take center stage, supported by Gad's masterful piano accompaniment. The slower tempo and jazz elements introduce a new depth to the song, highlighting its emotional core and resonating with audiences seeking a more introspective musical experience. The duo's creative synergy has given rise to a version that not only pays homage to the original but also stands on its own as a testament to their artistic versatility. This new interpretation of "Bad Valentine" exemplifies how genre fusion can breathe new life into music, offering a fresh perspective while maintaining the integrity of the song's message. This version could of "Bad Valentine" could be the vehicle that delivers a Grammy, and no one deserves it more that Angelina Jordan.

This was my take, except not just because she's a star. As a lifetime nice guy I know exactly what she is saying. There was no way I could be a healthy part of a relationship if I was just some soft reflection of what I think she wants me to be, no shape and thus no boundaries. No boundaries so no fight. Of course, I am not talking about raging or abuse or violence, I am talking about sometimes we just have to stand up and lay it down with a firmness as to become unmovable. Yet...we have to know the right times to do this, which isn't always. Only then can we be the foundation and anchor of a relationship. Sure, not all women want this, but again, after decades of being the super nice guy I can tell you that most say they want the super nice guy. But they don't.
@mikaeln2 ай бұрын
@@Mhantrax Exactly. No matter who you are, it's not pleasant to be around someone who only pretends to like everything you do even though you subconsciously know they really want and feel something else. It can be nice for a while but becomes incredibly stressful in the long run.

Can someone enlighten me? I always thought that the words (imaginary or factual) she sings are meant to be understood as the perspective of her ex. Why are reactors putting her in the position of the protagonist? She got sacked in this relationship, not him. I mean, look at her miming to the "too sweet" song (from Hozier); to me she clearly bites into her own flesh (for whatever reasons she has) here and there.

@@B-Drags-Den It is free to interpretation if one excludes her from the equation. But I'm pretty sure that the song is based on a true story. I just don't want folks to think that she's the baddy. Hence I'm overreacting a bit ;-)
