Saeed, Angelina's last song that won her NGT was SUMMERTIME. Her next performance after she won was in her home town amphitheater when she was 8. Watch her sing WHAT A DIFFERENCE A DAY MAKES to an audience of over a thousand people. This girl has no fear! Also her full name is Angelina Jordan ASTAR. THAT she truly is!

At the time Angelina was more a singer than she was a talker (I mean that in the good way). Now she is good at both. Than about her singing: it is mind blowing that this 8 year old singer can make all the vocal effects she wants to display, without technical tricks and better as almost every adult singer: just a microphone and her voice. And now, in 2024, she is 18 and even better!!

This semi-final performance was broadcast live on April 11/2014. The finals was aired live on May 25. The audition was recorded in Nov/2013. So about 6 months start to finish.

That moment when she is asked "Special how?" and she doesn't know what to say… that gets me every time. I think it's literally the only time she has ever seemed a bit "out of her depth" in any situation she has found herself - unsure of what to do or, in this case, what to say. I mean, yeah, there have been plenty of interviews where she was not as eloquent as she might have wanted to be, but this is the only time I can think of where she seemed to be genuinely stressed about that - if only for a couple of seconds. (Fortunately, the host came to her senses and gave her a concrete choice.) And she has _never_ seemed to be at all stressed about performing, no matter how intimidating the circumstances might have seemed to any normal person.

Great reaction FYI, although this song regained popularity from its use in Kill Bill, it was originally recorded and released by Cher in the 1960s. It was a huge hit for her and was written by her husband at the time, Sonny Bono. Later that same year Nancy Sinatra covered the song as an album only track. Nancy’s cover was the one used in Kill Bill which is why many people seem to think that was the original. Angelina is basing her performance on the Nancy Sinatra version.

I grew up listening to Nancy Sinatra singing this and have always liked it, but this performance is the best version ever produced. In my opinion it's still better than her live versions. It's so mesmerising.
