She was seven at the beginning of this video. Eight when she sang Summertime. EIGHT. She did all the songs in English .. her third language. She is humble and lovely and nothing short of brilliant. Something going on here which is beyond her vocal and artistic attributes. Her soulful voice is gathered in by our hearts and once there, it's there to stay. (Btw, listen to her sing 'Stay' when she was 12 years old.) Her soulful voice converts into sounds of love when she sings 'for us' and that love is so strong something mysteriously occurs. She makes us kinder, more caring and loving human beings than ever before in our lives. If you ask any 'angel', "Are you a better person since you have discovered Angelina," the answer is always, "Yes!" And, there's more. One of her desires in life is to do what she can to make the world a better place to live for everyone, particularly for those less fortunate. She has inspired us to follow her lead to do what we can, in a small way or big way, to do just that. She believes for all of us to accomplish such a dream it can only happen if we begin to love one another. Small example: If I passed someone walking down a sidewalk I would look off to the side and never think of making eye contact with that person. Now, I look at that person straight in the eye and say something like, "Good morning", and actually mean it! That person (who was doing the same thing, looking away) becomes startled and looks up and, says to me, "And you, too!" This performance you just heard, well, if you listen to it hundreds of times (which most of us have done) the affect it has on you will never ebb. It starts with her poise and confidence. She has stated she is most comfortable in her life when she is singing for people. During the song she smiles at an appropriate time, she'll glance over at the musician to make sure he's with her. And all of this barefooted. She performs barefoot when she is performing in front of people. If you've read about what we call the "Shoe story", once when she was interviewed when she was 9 or 10 promoting a book she wrote and had published in Norway ( at 9 years old) about the incident when she engaged the shoeless girl, the interviewer asked Angelina, "Do you think of that little girl?" Angelina answered, "I think of her everyday."

It's the little things that makes a huge difference. I used to not greet when walking past others but between working in customer service and looking at things from other perspectives you never know what an individual is going through and while it may not fix everything it's a glimmer of something small and positive aknowlegement of a person

Angelina decides for herself. When it comes to the actual training and choice of songs etc., it has always been Angelina who made all the choices and decisions. Parents and others, on the other hand, have asked her to take it a little easier sometimes. Angelina is very special and her own driving force. Ever since she was 3-4 years old! Of course, all relatives and frends, have helped and protected her. Angelina and her closest, decided early on that she would have as normal a childhood as possible. Even when she won NGT, 8 years old, many wanted to sign a contract. Everyone was dismissed! Even Disney. And this Norwegian girl sings in English! Do you know that she speaks several languages. The two songs you’ve heard are not unusual for Angelina. Believe the comments that you’ve been reading that Angelina is like no one you’ve ever heard before. Even here at 8 years old she has the vocal ability to nail this song, and she also can make you feel the meaning of lyrics like no singer I’ve ever heard. You have so much ahead of you. And Angelina will surprise you again and again and again. Jazz, blues, pop, ballads, r&b, soul…it doesn’t matter. She kills everything. Any age, any genre.

A barefoot princess with a hypnotic voice. Angelina Summertime (George Gershwin song) was based on Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong version. There's some 'blue notes' here. This early performance of "Summertime" was so impressive. I loved it. Her first audition on the show of "gloomy Sunday" by Billie Holiday was the one that made people's head's snap back in her direction, first catching the attention of an international audience. But her second one, another Billie Holiday song, was impossibly done with no music and all her competitors standing just behind her, showing on stage she has no nerves. She pretty much left everyone speechless. The next one I think, "Bang Bang", let everyone know she was not limited to old school jazz. She is one of the most versatile singers in the world. So many wonderful covers and originals. She's not scared of tackling complex songs from top artists.

Great reaction to a vocal tour-de-force! You've done it now. You have fallen into the vortex of Angelina Jordan who arguably brings the most confident, versatile, seemingly effortless, and fearless vocal artistry found today (whether measured across artists, genres, or decades). You may think this an exaggeration but listen to a few more of her many performances (160+ covers plus original songs - all on YT) and you will see! She has been performing at a high level all over the world since age 8 when she won Norway's Got Talent singing Billie Holiday, Nancy Sinatra, and Gershwin. It is the rare singer that can, as Angelina has done, go from Queen to "Screamin" Jay Hawkins to Adele to Elvis to Whitney Houston to Michael Jackson to Etta James to James Brown to Amy Winehouse to the Beatles (and many others in between) and do them all justice! If you want to hear music, listen to anyone. If you want to feel music, listen to Angelina. She will stagger you with her ability to find and bring forth the 'essence', the emotional message of nearly any song. You have far to go with Angelina. She is equally comfortable and equally able to impact us whether singing a cappella, accompanied only by a piano or guitar, in front of professional studio musicians or a 40-piece military band. With her immense vocal toolkit, arranging ability (yeah, that too, since about 8yo or so) and the work ethic to make what she does only 'seem' effortless, she will hopefully be touching hearts for a long time to come. Why God has performed the miracle of touching the world with one of such talent, musical IQ, commitment, and generosity as Angelina we can wonder but we must all marvel. Welcome aboard the AJ train! At this age she was the greatest child singer of all time (age 7-9). By 10 she had a fully "adult" voice & now at 17 she is the GOAT, as far as I'm concerned. She has been held back by her protective family over the last decade, turning down numerous record labels in order for her to have a "normal" childhood & to finish her basic schooling while she perfected her craft. Well she graduates HS a year early this month & is about to be cut loose. The Angelina Train is pulling out of the station & I recommend you hop on. Liked & subed for more Angelina reactions.

Angelin can speak and read English before 6 yo! Her father has worked/lived in several countries during Angelina's young years. He works in the oil industry, and has traveled a lot! There is a video where Angelina is like 4 yo, she shows her room and her toys etc., there she speaks excellent English.

I read a comment recently that simply stated God created Angelina so she could sing to him. Angelina is the driving force in her career and has been since she was 2 or 3 years old. If anything her family had to hold her back a little. She's been perfecting her craft since then and has worked extremely hard on it. That's why her catalogue is so large. My list is in close to chronological from 'Summertime' to 'Suspicious Minds'. ♥👣🔥

You mentioned the story of why she sings barefoot. Here are the details and remember she sings barefoot only while performing. Why does Angelina sing barefoot? The answer may bring a tear to your eye. It is related to a promise she made to herself and to the world when she was only 6 years old. She was traveling in the Middle East with her mom and grandmother and they came across a young orphan girl with no shoes and scarred feet. Angelina gave the girl her own favorite shoes. Angelina ask the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and she said a doctor, but she could not because she had to take care of her siblings. She asked Angelina the same question and Angelina said I want to sing for the world. The young girl said she would pray for Angelina. Since then, Angelia has forever performed barefoot as a reminder of all those less fortunate. At age 9 she wrote a book about this experience, Between two Hearts, becoming the youngest ever published author in Norway. She also has helped raise millions for children's charities. She even donated her winnings from Norway's Got Talent to charities. She is a special individual, and one you cannot follow without developing an emotional bond. Angelina captures hearts because she is humble and has compassion for humanity. Her stated goal from childhood was to sing for the world and spread love and peace.
