Just wanted to add that these appearances in Norway around this time were around the same time as she recorded the album It's Magic that I mentioned before. Videos around this time with the Norwegian Military band were in support of that album. Thanks for your support of our barefoot princesses Angelina.

This whole set of hers from this was spectacular. Loving You and Diamonds are Forever and this one are my favs. She sung 10-12 songs, I believe. All at 11 performing a full concert with band. Professional all the way.

Yes, this is a calming version of Julie London’s classic. Angelina does soft jazz and well as upbeat, and it’s true jazz-extemporaneous. She also does a stunning version of this a few years later with a full military band behind her. But if you want some insight into Angelina’s feel for music in completely different genres, watch her rock the house in the same concert with her version of “Lovin You”. We’re used to being surprised by what AJ can do, but Lovin You takes it to another level with that same great jazz band backing her mind-blowing vocals. Her age, 11, is irrelevant. All the Angelina's vocals in this series at Proysenfestivalen are just superb! As a footnote, there are three muscians behind her in the series (sax, trumpet, trombone) who were on stage with her a year before when she performed "Feelin' Good". They also performed with her at another jazz festival a year later. The trombonist is really good, but so were all the musicians who accompanied her.

It is sophisticated, smooth jazz to perfection by an 11 yo girl! She did another amazing version that was totally different from this on her 1st album, "It's Magic," with Norway's Military Band. But this one, with a small jazz band, is my fav. There must be another version from that videographer, probably for the jazz festival, but I've never seen it. This version from Boris is the only one I know of & was just recorded with a videocam from the audience. He may have tried to clean up the audio mix, but thankfully he got this Masterpiece performance for all to see & hear. He has recorded several early concerts of Angelina in Norway, so his channel is a treasure trove of exclusive videos you won't find elsewhere.

Exactly: she can kill you with runs or belts when appropriate, but with Angelina it is everything in the song as a whole that is so wonderful... all the nuances, the tone of her voice etc... and she emotes better than anyone I have ever heard - spot on comments !

Angelina Jordan ASTAR (the name says it all), this young norwegian genius (now 18 y old) is imo the best singer on the planet! I am 71 y old and have never heard a singer like her in my whole life. Norwegians are known for their excellent Jazz musicians. I’ve never heard another version of Angelina’s of this song. I don’t think there is another one. You have to watch this whole concert. Every song is hit out of the park! One of my very favorite concerts of hers. As a matter of fact, before adulthood, my favorite songs of hers were sung from age 10 through 12. That trumpet player really does a great job as do all the horns throughout this concert.

In the following winter she recorded her Album.. it's Magic 🪄 with the great Norwegian military band 🎀 and this song was included, a more powerful version with the 40 member Big Band. It was released in the next summer for the 200 y celebration of the Band. A very successful Jazz album

'The Gold Standard' for this song goes back to the 50's when 'jazz specialist' Julie London performed it. Angelina performs a true tribute to Jullie by staying 'spot on' with her rendition as she mesmerizes the listener in the same way Julie did back in the day.

A studio recording of this song is on her album It’s Magic that she recorded when she was 11. It was released in 2018 when she was 12. That album also includes her first two released originals, Oslo and What Is Life.

Her album, "It's Magic", recorded when she was 11 contains this and many other of the 'speakeasy' jazz songs. That album was done with the combined staff band of the Norwegian Military. They performed the entire concert live after she turned 12 and video exists of some of these songs, though the venue was not condusive to great audio quality. I think you've already reacted to "It's a Man's World" from that concert. There is no video of the album but it is still available.

Zack, this was an annual festival, small but prestigious. Only around 300 people in audience. It was held in honor to a Norwegian Poet, by the name of Mr. Alf Proysen, next to the hut he used to live in. To sing there is seen as an honor. You be safe. Elmar from Germany

Great reaction Zack. Angelina did a studio version of this on her Album "It's Magic". She went a lot bigger on the vocals on that arrangement which was the same one used by Michael Buble.
