Angelina was 10yrs old hear she was singing this on the roof of TV2 studio she sang this as a good bye to Norway as she was on her way to America for a while she sings this song beautifully and she is absolutely glowing even though she’s probably feeling sad saying goodbye to her Country and her friends at the age of 10 must have been really hard for her. First of all, Uncle, your video is so clear it looks almost like 3D !!!! Really! It's hard to rate Angelina's songs because all of them are so wonderful but this one will always be near the top. No blah blah blah from you. Loved your comments especially during the performance and it let's us know how much you care about her. She was 10, going on 11, and soon after this gig on top of a TV Station rooftop she was off to America. I guess it was her way to say good-bye to Oslo and Norway.

She excels in it, of course, but she has her own style that will probably create a whole new genre of music for the foreseeable future. Basically, anything she touches becomes better than the original in her covers, and she has just begun her journey with her own originals. We all get to sit back and enjoy the ride!

Angelina has released two originals in 2021. And because she only sings quality works one could argue that no one has released anything in the modern era worthy of her attention. I don't believe she will sing anyone's "fast-food" music (and I'm glad of it).

I don’t want Angelina to stay a child, but her performances as a child will stand by themselves as beautiful, amazing music. Her voice now is surely more developed, but her early performances are incredibly captivating. This is a hard song to sing, but she does it so beautifully and makes it look easy. I hear her nods to Ella in a few phrases, and I hear how uniquely Angelina makes it her own as well. In ten or twenty years when Angelina is listed with the world’s greatest singers, this performance will still be one of my favorites. Her age is irrelevant. She is just unbelievably good.

The saying, 'less is more' is proven here for Angelina presents the most moving version of this song I have ever heard.......and I love Ella, who was rated the #1 Jazz Singer of All Time, with Sinatra, Nat King Cole and Billie Holiday finishing 2nd, 3rd and 4th, respectively.

Everything Angelina does just blows my mind her voice takes me to a place of peace and enjoyment, it's like everything just stands still and this kids voice, I've heard people say after they hear Angelina sing they feel calm and they try to find the words to explain it all but they can't and everyone calls Angelina an angel, she is 10 here and it's like she knows too much for her age. This is one of the songs that define her as an artist. It is a bulls eye performance. "There is no love song finer", that is true, but there is no cover of this song finer either. This is one of my favorites of hers, and will be the next 20 years as well. Its pure heart, pure talent, pure music, pure Angelina. I cant get enough of this. This went live at TV2 at around 20.30 in the evening, and the earliest hours next morning, she literally said goodbye to Norway. Not for long, but for her, leaving her friends, quite a bit of time. Uncle Momo, so glad you picked this song and this particular performance to react to. As has already been noted, Angelina performed this song on the rooftop of television station 2 in Oslo, Norway. My understanding is that she was 10 years old, perhaps just shy of 11, when she recorded this. There is also a video of Angelina doing this song, age 14(?), at an outdoor venue, one of those summer fests in Norway. That outdoor recording doesn't have nearly the fidelity of this one you reacted to. In contrast, the recording here was made in an intimate setting with minimum backup and recorded with top quality professional gear of a television studio. This performance is one of those Angelina performances that sticks out to me for a variety of reasons. First of all, it's perfect. Even her occasional flaws in English, "I die you little," are endearing. Here she is age 10 and perfect already. You don't need to hear an older Angelina sing this because it can't get any better. Secondly, it is just stunning "tone singing." This is the kind of popular vocals heard during the Big Band era when "divas" still resided only in opera houses. A brilliant performance without the need for gratuitous stylistic elements or vocal pyrotechnics. That brings me to my third reason of why I like this performance so much. The melody is so simple. I can envision a top popular music diva doing a version of this piece filled will melismatic runs and towering high "money notes" and totally destroying this beautiful song. On the other hand, these same great divas could not sing it "straight," the way Angelina has done, and deliver a performance as good as the one we just watched. The fourth reason I find this performance so endearing is that it turned me on to the music of the, so called, "Great American Songbook:" classic songs from the 1930s into the 1970s, common to the Big Band era. I wasn't much of a fan of this music for most of my life. But, this performance caused me to take a second look and I have been exploring and appreciating more and more music of that era thanks to this performance by Angelina. The fifth reason I am in debt to this Angelina performance is that it started me exploring the work of Ella Fitzgerald. Ella has been titled, "America's First Lady of Song," and was in all likelihood, the best singer of her generation. I wasn't interested in the genre of her repertoire. But thanks to this performance by Angelina, I'm appreciating Ella's work a great deal. The Ella connection comes from something you alluded to. You're right, this piece is from the "Fred Astaire" era. It is a Cole Porter number (1944) and a classic from the Great American Songbook. It was Ella Fitzgerald who set the bar on this song with her 1956 recording of it. Upon hearing that performance, Cole Porter is said to have remarked on how good Ella made his songs sound. Angelina performs it in the style of Ella, both of whom stick pretty much to how the song was written. Angelina is unique in her texture and some stylistic elements. But, both she and Ella give masterful performances. And, favorably comparing a 10 year old to Ella Fitzgerald --- well, that's something. This song doesn't require a big range or strong dynamics. It led me to wonder why I rate Angelina's performance of it so highly. Certainly, her tone has a lot to do with it, and her phrasing brings out the elegance of the piece. My thoughts go especially to Angelina's intonation in this performance. A half-step (semi-tone to you Brits) divides into 100 cents. If one hooked an oscilloscope to the audio track, would Angelina ever be more than 5 cents off of the pitch she wanted to be at? I think not. Thank you Uncle Momo for bringing attention to this under recognized piece and for another great Angelina reaction. The only thing you can do better is just to keep them coming.

I have often thought that what you've said, about Angelina needing to naturally change, is going to be an issue for some of her fans. They don't want Angelina to grow up. I understand this but she deserves the right to make mistakes, and to find her own path. Having written this, I dare say, if anyone has ever found their own path, it is Angelina.

I'm fully prepared for whatever her personality and style will be like in the future. As she grows into a woman her voice changes massively, that's true. But no matter how she will sound like, I will always love her, because after all, I love her as an artist, the songs are secondary in my opinion. I just hope that she will keep on singing, that's all. It's funny that even having heard so many performances of her I still can't figure what her preferred genre is. Maybe she just likes everything. It's not only the very old jazz songs from the 50s/60s, she also covered more than once Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey and Rihanna, so she probably also likes R&B. Furthermore she did an EDM song and songs from Alan Walker (electro house). She also mentioned that she loves Ariana Grande. I think the spectrum of music she listens to is very vast. I assume she will also try some dance, pop or maybe some hip hop in the future. Her latest songs had some indication of pop.

You asked about her covering songs from 2020 or 2021, to which I have to ask "What songs are WORTH covering from 2020 or 2021?" (Just look at the chart-toppers: "Driver's License," "WAP," etc. -- ugh!). Instead, let's talk about her OWN (original) songs released in 2020 & 2021: "Million Miles" & "7th Heaven"! That's where she's taking her music. The most recent songs I can think of that she's covered are "Happier" (Marshmello) & "Someone You Loved" (Lewis Capaldi). Both I believe were released in 2018, and I'd say Angelina does both better than the original artists.

Maan, way to much talking..lolo. Just let The Genius sing, talk after. The talking is like way longer than the rendition.. It’s like being on a grate emotional/ Musical journey with Angelina’s Voice than suddenly someone stops the Bus and starts talking for 10min Only to reverse the bus just to talk again.. you’ve already killed the good mood of the journey/ song just talking for so long.. and your stopping it just at the worst times..
