Great reaction. As you are discovering, every time you listen to Angelina you are even more amazed than before. Even when you expect to be surprised, you are still surprised by how good she is. Which song will you do next? I Put A Spell on You, perhaps, or go back to her beginnings on Norway's Got Talent with Gloomy Sunday? I advise spending time with earlier songs before sampling her newer stuff to get an idea of how much she has grown as a singer. Clue: she began brilliantly and then just got better.

GREAT reaction! LOL. I told you that this one was going to be requested by someone, and sure enough. It is widely considered among her fans to be one of her very best. It was rewarding and amusing to see your facial expressions changing throughout the song. This is what normally happens to everyone who listens to it for the first time, at least those who have a minimal understanding of music and singing. Almost a prerequisite for a music reactor I'd say 😊 Already at age 10 (2 years after she won Norway's Got Talent), it was abundantly clear to most people that Angelina Jordan Astar (her full name, where both Angel and Star very fittingly is integrated) was something very, very special. A musical and singing genius or perhaps a savant. Now, at age 18, she is getting closer and closer to her breakthrough, which is inevitable. She JUST surpassed 1 million monthly listeners on Spotify, and that has happened without ANY promoting of her in any way. Even her 6 song EP called "Old Enough" flew well under the radar for most people. Those songs were written and performed when she was 16, but the EP released a year later, when she was 17,5 years old. All 6 songs are solid bangers, exceptionally well written and produced. Thank you for another grand reaction to Angelina. In my opinion, she is the best singer in the world, and there are thousands of others who would agree with me. Every moment you spend featuring her on your channel will being you great emotional satisfaction. There are so many things I get from this performance. Some I recognised immediately and those I missed were brought to my attention by the more observant Angelina fans (her Angels) and I thank them for letting me know what I had missed. (1) The realisation that at the age of 10 Angelina has shed all childishness from her voice. (2) A feeling that the placement of the spotlight at the beginning of her performance was deliberate. If it was, then, to my mind, it was a brilliant move. (3) The fact that Angelina arranged this song and that the band kept out of the way and let her voice be the focus. (4) The incredible low note she sang for the word "good" at the beginning and end of the performance. (5) That wonderful crescendo at the end. (6) The way Angelina used her left arm and hand throughout the performance (7) The way she changed the microphone from her right hand to left hand, so that she could flip her hair back with her right hand. (8) The cheeky smile she gave to the cameraman when she realised he had focused on her at about 3.45 in your reaction video. (9) The sideways look and grin she gives to her instrumentalists just after she curtsies to the audience -- as if to say, "Yeah, we killed it, guys! Now let's go get some ice cream!" (10) The almost instantaneous switch from "performance" mode to that of a young child, who curtseyed and gave a sweet smile to the audience as an acknowledgement of their applause. Others have commented that the performance by Nina Simone should be considered the "gold" standard for this song. Until recently, I had never watched her performance, but have now done so. They just cannot be compared, for Angelina's arrangement is totally different

Angelina is music royalty. She became a national treasure in Norway, after winning Norway's Got Talent at age 8. Her wise and loving family had to means to turn away ALL those who wanted to sign her, including Disney. Angelina got to travel the world, singing for royalty and prime ministers, but mostly at events to raise money for charity. She opened for Norah Jones, in South Korea, at age 11. She opened the show, celebrating Quincy Jones's 85th birthday at the O2 Arena in London at age 12. The list is very long.

A barefoot princess with a hypnotic voice. As usual, a vocal master piece. Born Angelina Jordan Astar on January 10, 2006 in Oslo, Norway to her Norwegian mother, Sara Astar and her Swedish father, Gerry Christian Slattman. Angelina started singing around 18 months of age, after listening to Whitney Houston on KZbin. She quickly became obsessed with listening to music videos and her maternal grandmother, Mery Zamani got Angelina interested in classic jazz. Mery Zamani is Iranian and was a prodigy as an artist and poet while growing up in Iran. Angelina attended the Oslo Waldorf School and participated in the Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts after-school program, where starting around age 4, she had training in music but no vocal training. Her teachers were smart enough to not attempt to change what she was doing vocally. More recently she along with her grandmother have designed and made the clothing she wears on stage. Why Angelina always performs barefoot At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road, asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina took off her shoes so as to not get the scale dirty and stepped on the scale many times to make the girl feel better. Angelina befriends the girl who was not wearing shoes and has scars on her feet, and learns she is an orphan. The orphan girl tells Angelina how beautiful she thinks her shoes are. Angelina says her shoes don’t fit her well and she wants to give her shoes to the orphan girl who thanks Angelina for giving her the shoes. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” Angelina told the girl to never give up on her dreams. The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true. Angelina still says she thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot to remind her of all the children who are less fortunate. At age 9, she became the youngest published author in Norway’s history by writing a book about this encounter in the Middle East. PLEASE PURCHASE Angelina’s book from her merchandise store on her official website, angelinajordanofficial Angelina, at age 6 and 7, did record a few songs in a recording studio at her school, most notably “I Who Have Nothing”, a truly remarkable performance for a 7 year old. At age 7, Angelina’s audition on Norway’s Got Talent, was a cover of Billie Holiday’s “Gloomy Sunday”, a song which was banned by a number of European countries during World War II because authorities worried the song would increase the suicide rate. Truly bizarre that this is the song to launch the career of a child musical prodigy. One of the judges on NGT cried. Angelina had turned 8 years old for her next performance on NGT, covering Billie Holiday’s “I’m a Fool to Want You” singing acapella which was required by NGT unless the singer also played an instrument while singing. This was the Judge’s cut round of the competition and was not performed in front of an audience. In the Semi Final round of NGT, Angelina sang “Bang Bang” which was written by Sonny Bono and was first performed by his wife Cher but is best known sung by Nancy Sinatra. The improvement in each performance is incredible even though there were only a couple months between them. In the Finals, Angelina did a cover of George Gershwin’s, “Summertime” and won the contest, capturing 46% of the votes from the ten finalists. When asked what she would like to do with the prize money she won (500,000 kroner or about $80,000), Angelina replied, “I want to give it to the poor children”. Angelina had become a star in her native Norway and her videos on KZbin went viral. She gave a few concerts during the summer of 2014 while 8 years old. In December 2014, Angelina realized a life-long desire to sing at the Save the Children's Peace Prize Celebration which is part of the Noble Peace Prize celebration. During 2018, Angelina lost her paternal grandfather, her friend Avicii and one of her idols, Aretha Franklin. She did a moving tribute for each. She had, since age 3, wanted to perform for Simon Cowell and she earned his praise with her genius arrangement of “Bohemian Rhapsody”. The surviving members of Queen loved it so much they put a link to it on their Twitter. Angelina was eliminated after covering Elton John’s “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road”. Angelina’s family refused to sign any agreement with AGT. Angelina, before age 14, had covered more than 130 songs from 80 different artists, spanning at least 8 genres, all of which are available on KZbin. Angelina has always made changes to each song she covers and often her version is preferred over the original. The pandemic hit shortly after her performances on AGT and likely caused a change of plans by her family, most notably her Uncle Michael who is her manager. Norwegian born Angelina Jordan began singing at the age of one and a half, and by age three was listening to jazz and classics legends on repeat. I would like to say that one gets used to it but reality is that you don't. She sings into your soul on a level few if any alive can. One thing I will say is the Angelina will shape your view of music as a whole and you might find your taste in music shifts. You do get used to the quality of Angelina. It doesn't matter the environment or setting. Whether she is out walking sing on the sidewalk on tictok and insta or in the famous underground parking garage or the classic in her bedroom at 3am on the piano or guitar. Either way she will never disappoint and to which she takes up 70-80% of my daily listening time.

So, I think you're starting to understand a little better what you're dealing with here. Hearing her sing like a "full grown" professional at 13 or 15 is one thing, but hearing her do that at 10 is a bit of a mind-eff, no? IMO, this is the best performance by a 10-year-old vocalist, ever. She also holds that distinction (again, IMO) at 9, 8, and 7. And, OK, at 1½, as well. (!!) But that's knid of a special case, because I don't think I've ever even witnessed a 1½-year-old _actually_ singing before. I mean, sure, I guess I've heard babies of somewhere around that age doing what I might characterize as "trying to sing". But *actually* singing? Like, *really* singing? No. Not until I saw Angelina doing that. The video is here on YT, reposted by a fan after her family (specifically, her grandmother) posted it to TT last year. The title is "NEW: Angelina Jordan singing with Grandma Mery (Age one and a half)" followed by a bunch of hashtags that I'm not going to reproduce here. A couple of caveats, however, before you watch it: First, the woman's voice heard in the video is not her grandmother, Mery; it is her mother, Sara. She is trying to get baby Angelina to do for the camera what she already witnessed her doing off-camera. (I think we all know how that goes.) Second, the video starts to repeat midway through (at around 3m17s), but there's a little portion at around 5m29s (where she says something in Norwegian) that is not seen in the first half. Third, she doesn't actually end up singing very much of the song, and she keeps singing the title line at the wrong moments, but what she does sing is suprisingly well done (i.e., on key, and arguably delivered with more "sensitivity" than one would expect from a toddler). And finally, I don't actually recommend that you react to it immediately (not that there's much risk of that, if you're doing paid requests - I'm not sure anyone has ever paid for someone to react to this particular video). I think you should watch a few more of her videos at older ages first (I mean, 7 through, say, 12). Because the more familiar you are with how she performs when she's older, the more impactful this very first "command performance" (at her mother's request) will be.
