Hi Jacqueline, she is 17 years old here and in just under 2 months she will be 18, the whole EP is such a masterpiece, everything is original and so well written by her, I can only say she is outstanding and by far the best singer of this decade or Century and Diamond is an even bigger surprise I have never experienced in my entire life that an EP only contains number 1 songs, each of the 6 songs is a hit and grammy worthy I hope that Republic Records finally starts the promo engine and puts them in the Radio and TV are played, only KZbin is not enough. The crazy thing is that she said that the EP with 6 songs is a small selection of over 100 songs that she has already written, that gives hope for the future that we will be surprised with even more beautiful songs. Great reaction Jacqueline. Angelina is an extraordinary vocal diamond who radiates beautiful sound waves around her and is constantly developing. The mixture of styles, timbres, voices, genres and tones that this girl manages to use is incredible, it's not only her primary jazz training, which she has developed in an excellent way, but all the musical sources she has absorbed in these wonderful years of hers of experimentation and training, which she reworks and connects in her own unique way, like the true artist she is. I love all 6 songs on her EP, each one differently and can't stop listening to them. Angelina has done a beautiful and intelligent musical work with this EP, the lyrics are excellent and are mainly the result of her ingenuity, even if in collaboration, and they tell an evolutionary path, from a breakup, through the stages of demonization and suffering up to the full self-revaluation and self-affirmation of the last song Diamond. Is a wonderful EP, new, unique, passionate and with very beautiful and deep lyrics, written by a seventeen year old girl who is absolutely fantastic. 💛🧡❤

With this EP, your most favorite song tends to be the most recent song you have heard. 😳 They are all SO good! I look forward to your next reaction and analysis Jackie. [BTW, your brief solos in “Old Enough, At Last” were spectacular. They added SO much to the final production. It’s as if you summoned up the ghost of Ella to join in on our beautiful tribute 🫶]

Great reaction and analysis. Angelina doesn’t throw away a word or a syllable. You said it’s hard to pick a favorite from Old Enough. I agree, and I’ve given up trying. As we’ve seen all through her career, Angelina covers completely different styles and genres so authentically and beautifully that you can’t really compare “I Put a Spell on You” with “Easy on Me”. On Old Enough, how do you choose between “Good in Goodbyes” and “Now I’m the Fool”? They’re both great in completely different ways. You thought today’s song was a mix of r&b and jazz. Angelina is musically fearless. She doesn’t have to follow the rules because she creates her own rules. Just wait til you hear Diamond…

This, to me, is the 'cream of the crop' in her six song 'EP'. The 'beat' reminds me of 'Empire State Of Mind' by Jay Z and Alicia Keys. Jay should reprise it at Times Square in NYC and have Angelina do the piano intro, before meeting him on stage, for she will not only display the power needed, but the 'Rap' ability that will coordinate with Jay so perfectly. It would be epic, for that you can be sure.

ridge Sorry, but that couldn't happen. Angelina doesn't have the chops for that piano intro. That being said, I'm more than willing to accept that I'm wrong, if you can show me where she plays at that level of proficiency.

We are not talking about Juillard level of performance. The piano intro is nothing that difficult and she has been playing the instrument for some years now. There are videos of her playing piano some years ago, and I have to believe she has improved from then to now. We are only talking about simple key playing to keep the beat before she leaves for the stage.

Awesome reaction!! I was glad to attend the premiere and chat with Jacqueline. Here is a list of all of Angelina's original songs. "What is Life" first sung at age 11. We don't know how old she was when she wrote each song. Age presented is her age when she first sang it. "Oslo" age 11 "Shield" age 12 "Million Miles" age 14 we know she wrote this one in the days after her maternal grandfather passed in 2019 when she was 13 "7th Heaven" age 15 "Love Don't Let Me Go" age 17 "Now I'm the Fool" age 17 "Fire and Rain" age 17 "It's All My Fault" age 17 "Good in Goodbyes" age 17 "Diamond" age 17 "Our Time" age 17 Should include songs for which she was the first to sing "I'm Still Holding Out for You" age 10 .... considered one of her best vocal performances by many "Song for A" age 12 "Above the Water" a EDM song released near her 14th birthday

After you listen to Diamond, go back and binge listen to the EP in order again. She is telling a story: 1. Search for Love 2. Lost love. 3. I'm ok. 4. No I'm not. Regrets. 5. Acceptance. 6. The whole EP is exquisite, highly sophisticated. Level of originality here is off the charts ... really, what chart would you rank it on? What radio station would you expect to find it on? Anyone hearing this for the first time and not knowing AJ is just going to be stunned/confused/stupified! Talent is obvious but many will be trying to figure out what to make of it. No doubt it grows on anyone that hears it and the more it's heard the more respect and appreciation grows. Just may not be an instant hit ... got to grow on people which means she needs a huge amount of exposure?

Fun that you noticed the play between AJs vocals and the baseline in the verses, that's the first thing that hit me with this song. Also there's no such thing as "another word of the song" with AJ - she makes sure that every word counts, always. It really is a staple for her. Try to sing along her and mimic the embellishments she does... It is pretty darn hard. She also has this uncanny timing that places the embellishments at just the right spot. Eargasmic :)

JVB! Enjoyed this reaction!! Angelina never ceases to amaze, right? many of the songs on her EP are truly "stories". only Mom, Grandma and God know whether it's her own or not. Some of the comments make a story of breakup, to her examining any negativity that trying to put out her joy...regardless, it's the sound and performance that makes this a hit song. yes, the vibe is RETRO, the music/sounds I listened a long time ago (in a galaxy far, far away Sorry couldn't help that line). Angelina is so creative, that she can build on an older era, add nuances of today's music, and land in a place we can immensely enjoy, a haunting hook, and that's it; we're toast!! We all already know her first love is JAZZ, that's only new to a new listener. But the colors of her musical palette are many, beautiful, and what she sets forth is the work of art from a true artist and writer...we KNOW what to expect, but she never ceases to SURPRISE us!! I LOVE the ride...smooth as silk, comfy like your favorite flannel shirt, warm like sitting in the early morning sun, and places we can only visit when she sings. What a glorious talent, what an engaging vocal artist, what a wonderful world she manages to make better and better. Take care of you, Lady Wanderer, Mistress of Adventure!!
