Angelina Jordan - How Great Thou Art

The recording of Angelina singing "How Great Thou Art" was originally published on the "Mosarz" channel in late December 2019 with a "Happy New Year" greeting from Angelina.
My video has, with some interruptions, been in the making ever since until I finally decided to publish it in its current form almost a year later. Please let us enjoy Angelinas beautiful voice and the wonders of nature without imposing any of our own thoughts, spiritual beliefs or religious convictions upon her or anyone else.

I wish that there was a way that I could thank Angelina for how important she is to my soul. She came along as the covid-19 crisis came long. I am secluded from the world other than when I'm working in a hospital. I don't think I would be able to keep going without a daily dose of Angelina. Wonderful version by Angelina, as ALWAYS. Old swedish folktune and a poem by Carl Gustav Boberg. In 1885, he was walking home in the bayside town of Mönsterås, located on Sweden’s south-eastern coast. A thunderhead appeared on the horizon. Lightning flashed. Thunderclaps shook the air, sending Boberg running for shelter. When the storm began to relent, he rushed home. It was originally written by Swedish poet Carl Boberg in 1885 then translated into German in 1907 and Russian in 1912. The first English translation was by E. Gustav Johnson in 1925 but the version we have today was translated from the Russian version by Stuart K. Hine in 1949. A good number of artist have covered this classic over the years including Tennessee Ernie Ford, Burl Ives, Charlie Daniels, Billy Preston, Elvis Presley, and even an acapella group that you recently reacted to, Pentatonix that features Jennifer Hudson. Although Jennifer Hudson doesn't dare attempt the depths that Angelina does in her version. What is truly amazing is the amount of vocal control Angelina has at these lower ranges."

It was a very sad moment for me the day I realized that Angelina had removed from KZbin her interpretation of that amazing worship song. The only places where I could go from time to time to watch her, in unison with her spirit, delivering masterfully such a stunning grave rendition were on the channels of only three reactors: Zeus, TRICKY RICKY and DCNP. But, miracle today: I can watch Angelina for now on in her original recording and, once again, enjoy the tasteful, peaceful and inspired editing work of a giant in Angelina Jordan's dedicated and zealous group of admiring Angels and true friends. An artist needn't be associated with a particular religious belief when they sing a beautiful passage with a sincere message. Angelina did exactly that. In a reaction to this song I read a comment stating she recorded this song couple days before her performance on AGT’s 2020 Champion Series. I read her lost was controversial and unfounded as many thought she should have won. I wonder if instead of singing Elton John’s “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road” which was a standout performance if just maybe she would have sung this song instead. For one I think the judges and audience would have been in tears and I dont know if it’s ever done before on AGT but I bet she would have received a 2nd golden buzzer! Surely because her cover of How Great Thou Art was so completely different from her singing style she presented with Bohemian Rhapsody and Goodbye Yellow Brick Road singing that song would have assured her winning. But beyond “winning” the television audience in that moment would have gone bananas moreso I feel the millions watching that night a wave of healing would have bathe the world in love & light. I can’t help but tear up every time I listen to this song. Moreover the cleansing it gives my entire Being afterwards.

I don’t think that it would have made any difference. The public could not vote. The voting was done by people selected from all 50 US states. AGT tried to get Angelina to audition since she won Norway Got Talent 5 years earlier. They were always turned down because she and her family didn’t want to be contractually controlled by AGT. They wanted her so badly that they agreed to give her a non binding contract to appear at The Champions version of the show. Many believe that the outcome was skewed by the selection process of the voters in order to produce a specific result. Angelina was signed by Republic Records in 2020 as their highest priority new artist. The contract allows her to finish her school before promoting her. She will graduate from high school this year and her debut album under Republic Records is expected to be released at that time.
