I obviously got under the skin of some angels. Here's what I actually said, Her performance was "uneven. It was good in spots and not good in other spots'" "Her voice was 'still there, still beautiful, the phrasing, the back phrasingthe the things that she does so wonderfully was still there." Now, let's look at what you said when you complained about my reaction. SHe was sick but she pressed on and soldeired through. When you think of how sick she was....Being the trooper she is, she pressed on, despite her voice audibly cracking. On the surface, maybe it wasn't her best performance. What you need to understand is that you are reacting as a fan. I can't do that. I have to be honest about what I watched. And, I did not know she was sick, because the requester didn't put that in the comments. Had I known, it would have changed my reaction but not in the way you might think. I would have still pointed out what I saw, but I would have added the context that made it undertandable.

Maybe my good friend, el señor moment, caused you to forget that. 😉 And I don't really think there was much complaining about your reaction .. just people giving context to her performance, not yours.

You can't react as a fan? Why not? You have declared many times about how much you love Angelina. It's your channel, you can react any way you want to. As @poolhallshark has said previously, being honest is not the same thing as saying everything that pops into your mind. It was obvious to me the first time I heard this that she was sick. We all have ears, no need to point out what we all hear. Why not just say that she is obviously sick but that you know this is atypical for her?

She was 8 yrs old in this performance. She was also sick and told to stay home for this event, but she pressed on and soldered through. Just thought you would want to know. All the best.

Good morning Paul...first I'm not mad. On the surface, maybe it wasn't her best singing performance, but in my opinion it was one of best performances if we look at the big picture. She was sick but at 8 years old had the courage and conviction to stand up for what she believes and what she stands for despite the hardships. To me it was the performance that made me an Angel.

After 7+ years of being an Angel, this is still one of my favorite performances. Watching her toughing it out while fighting that cold was really inspiring. I want someone like that saying with such determination, "I'll be there!" to me. I believe her.

She had a cold and it was suggested that she shouldn't go to Sweden to perform but she talked everyone out of it and she said she would be okay. In the clip of the video when they showed the audience you can see the people were all dressed up. It was a charity event and the subject matter was 'Bullying by Children' and Angelina had insisted to her family that she 'had to perform' to support the cause. If you listen to it again you can hear the very nasal sound to her voice and when she screeched at one moment (it's the only time we've ever heard her 'loose it') she never lost a beat and continued on as if nothing wrong ever happened. (In fact, it only added to the emotion of the moment.) She actually repeated the same part of the song a little later on and was able to hit the note successfully. All the donors in the audience, I believe, reached down very deep into their pockets to support the cause after listening to Angelina. Paul, as you have come to expect, everything Angelina sings has a message of love attached to it and that always comes through when we listen to her sing for us. Yes, she always sings for us because that's who she is.

She was 8. Was ill with a really bad cold and was told by doctors to cancel. As it was a charity event she insisted on performing. It is a fan favorite most of whom loved the grit and "being there" as the song says.

The other angels have explained she was sick so not 100% vocally but always 1000% you feel her give her all to what is important to her I love this performance because of the feeling she still puts into it even at 8 yrs old she has a tiny body but a giant heart . 💜💜💜👣

It's from a charity concert in Stockholm at the age of eight. Several of Sweden's most famous singers were in the audience, as they also performed at this concert. A Swedish newspaper wrote in 2014, "The 8-year KZbin phenomenon made celebrity Sweden cry." Angelina had caught a cold, and her doctor advised her not to sing. But she wanted to take advantage of the unique opportunity to pay tribute to Swedish heroes-people who had made a difference in accidents and even saved lives.

Just prior to this performance for a charity event Angelina came down with a nasty cold. She was advised not to perform, but she insisted; having committed to helping out this worthy cause. Being the trooper she is, she persevered, despite her voice audibly cracking. As is the case with Angelina, it still sounds beautiful. ♥️👣

Hey Paul, this was recorded on December 8th 2014, so she was still 8 years old. Part of the Swedish Heroes Gala, broadcast by TV4 Sweden. She wasn't "as good as usual" because she was sick (had a cold), but insisted on performing anyway, as it was the part of the event where it was about supporting children (her performance was dedicated to Marwa Karim, winner of the Youth Award 2014). There were some Swedish celibs in the audience including Swedens PM.

This is a absolutely tremendous performance one of my absolute favourites of a 8 year old angelina jordan . for me being sick causing her voice to break was not a negative but a absolute positive , it made this already emotional performance even better , whoever suggested this to you should have informed you of angelinas sickness , even so its difficult for me to understand how anyone cant see and hear how good this performance is .the audience were spellbound .i despair at times with you paul , i realy do .

The reason you said what you said is that she showed up sick with a fever of 39 degrees, they told her she could give up and not show up, but she still decided to go up and sing because this event was to raise funds for children and any further words are unnecessary🦶🦶👑🗣🎙🎷

Angelina’s dedication and integrity shows through in this performance! She was sick and told not to perform. However, she made a commitment to be there for this charity event! Notice how she used her musical instrument to be able to perform this! She knew what notes she could and couldn’t hit! She sang outdoor in almost same outfit at Nobel Peace Concert one week earlier in -13(about) outdoor concert barefooted. Her voice cracks differently here as she got cold, but not cancelling or she was not nervous here. Just some info. Love from Norway.

Angelina was sick during this performance paul, She had a bad cold 103 Temperature. The doctors that checked her out cuz she couldnt stop coughing told her to come back in three months when shes better. Angelinas mom even told her that, She refused them all cuz she gave this charity her word a year ago she would be here to perform no matter what. well she held up her end of the bargin ? Shes a trooper ! God Bless her, Great reaction. I just wanted to let ya know why she cracked up there midway through. I know the Angels will jump all over ya if you say anything negative about her. Yes AJ was sick , but Paul was still correct in his comments and entitled to voice them . We , the fans can’t be blind and say every performance is equally amazing! I am a mad Angelina fan , but some performances aren’t as good as others. In fact I think some covers she fit between 10 - 14 years of age are better than what she has done at at 18. Eg. Feeling Good at 10 yrs was imo better than the Las Vegas one Paul still gave credit, he was honest and that’s what we want !! Well done Paul , keep up with your wonderful reactions!!

It's interesting how shortcomings in her performances can sometimes bother me a great deal and sometimes not at all. I guess it all boils down to whether I feel like she "should have been able to" do better. For example, there's a handful of videos from when she was 6 or 7 where she is… let's say… not singing especially well. But since she had not yet demonstrated an ability to consistently sing extremely well at that age, I cut her quite a bit of slack about that. OTOH, there's an entire concert she did at 9½ that is obviously, so to speak, "objectively better", but almost every song has something in her performance that srtikes me as "not quite right". And since she had a little over a year of really excellent performances under her belt at that point, al those little "wanting" moments _really_ get under my skin. So what about this performance? Well, when I first heard it, I was a little disappointed that her voice was clearly not at 100% (and everyone else here is explaining the reason for that). But I didn't really have a problem with the performance itself (i.e., the choices she was making). It just wasn't one of my favorites, that's all. But then in subsequent viewings I noticed how after that voice crack on the high note, the very next time she was called on to "go hard", just seconds later, she didn't seem to hold back _at all_ . That realization not only improved my feelings about this particular performance, it actually increased my respect for her "as a person". (I mean, not that I didn't already respect her, but that was mainly because of her singing abilities. This was something different.)
