Great reaction. Her head voice and chest voice are uniquely beautiful. What makes them both so remarkable are the choices she makes as to when to use each. Often the choices she makes for when to back off with the head voice or to belt with the chest voice are not what others would do which gives the listener a wonderful surprise and makes her sound unique and artistic. Angelina uses tonality and register changes in addition to dynamics to create a colorful and unique artistic work every time she sings.

I love both versions for different reasons. She is actually 10 in the first video. I love the passion and enthusiasm a ten year old is putting in this. Musically there are things she’s trying to do with her voice and it just hasn’t quite matured enough to totally pull it off. But I find this performance so raw and genuine. It’s just beautiful. Imperfectly perfect. The 16 year old version in my opinion is Angie at her finest. Displaying every vocal ability in her toolbox. I think it is her very best jazz vocal performance

Bravo for your always interesting videos. AJ's rendition of "My Funny Valentine" at the age of 10, sitting at home on a armchair, is one of the most touching videos I've seen or heard of this child musician phenomenon. Along with Chet Baker's version, it constitutes a summit in the art of interpretation, which is staggering for a child of her age. It's been three years since I discovered her, and the more I listen to her, the more I'm captivated. At 73, and having a son who is a classical concert performer, I know how a child musician grows up, what kind of phenomena one is confronted with, and what a difference there is between the ear of a musician and that of a music lover. Nevertheless, I was not accustomed to following the development of a future great voice. In this respect, it was fortunate that AJ's grandmother, recognizing her granddaughter as a gifted child, filmed her from the cradle.

At 16, her's is the most sensual rendition of this classic that I have ever experienced. I believe her mom had the vocals 'overdubbed' so there would be separation from the the visuals so that she wouldn't come across as a sultry lounge singer, but simply as a beautiful teenage girl who is daydreaming as she meanders through an antique furnishings establishment.

My Funny Valentine This is my 169th time listening to this MASTERPIECE and each time I experience a new level of perfection by our ethereal prodigy extraordinaire, Angelina Jordan. When you listen to the A cappella portions of this performance at the very end of the song you are truly experiencing the genius of Angelina Jordan’s PERFECT PITCH. Sinatra, rest in peace Angelina Jordan, the Bare Foot Queen has taken the crown and there is nothing like her in the universe. When I first heard her perform this. I put it on pause and brought up Sinatra, Bublé, Streisand, Fitzgerald and Vaughan's version of this song to compare it to AJ version, and none of them moved me like this version. It is so hard to comprehend that Angelina from 7 to 16 is the greatest story telling being in my 76 years of experiencing great vocalist and I can't wait for the rest of the story. We are not only hearing it, but we are also feeling each word as though she were singing to each of us individually. I've watched it a hundred times and never gets old!! This is 5 months after previous concert with 3150 seats in a destination venue, with just 30 days to sell seats (sales have been a trickle since day 5). Possibly some tickets will be sold last minute to new people on vacation in Las Vegas.

I can relate to this one and "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" (her version is hands down the best one, end of discussion) being near or at the top. There's a few great jazz singers with that gorgeous timing, but what really does it for me that she has enough creativity to make it really interesting, and then finally there is her incomparable tone that no one can touch. She somehow captures the beauty of music in a way that no one else can show me.

Angelina has just turned 10 for the younger performance, with her birthday on January 10 and Valentine's Day a month later. I had never listened to Lana Del Rey until after I learned of Angelina and Lana is ok, but nothing special in my book. Listening to other artists, and I continue to do so, is great, because I might find another favorite. Angelina will be performing two shows at the Westgate Resort and Casino, in Las Vegas, on February 29th. She sounds even better live.

I will take the 2016 version any day. Soulfull, heartfelt and jazzy. Her singing in the 2022 version is gorgeous, but the arrangement is boring. Las Vegas diva style. It does not get more boring than that. Luckily she has lots of live performances from Norway with proper bands.

I have seen comparisons like this before of the young Angelina and then the version when she's older. But as far as I'm concerned the early version is not only better than the latter version I think the early version is a performance for the ages and if Rogers and Hart were alive today I think they would agree. I think it's one of those performances where the performer makes the song hers. It reminds me of Judy Garlands version of Over the Rainbow in the Wizard of Oz. There is her version and all the others that aren't hers. It's the same with Angelina. I think the later version is good but it's too polished compared to the earlier version and lacks the passion of a young Angelina.
