I love that we can go back and listen to 12 yo Angelina and younger but I equally love that she continues to grow and develop her own style. How could you discount 15 and 16 year old Angelina with all those wonderful songs in the antique store or her stunning Christmas concert or later at 17 with her brilliant EP. I personally think Angelina is great all the time and can't wait to see what she continues to sing for us.

That's so beautiful. It brings tears to my eyes. Regarding peaking at age 12, she has continued to improve her technique, and her voice has become deeper and richer, as you would expect. That said, I can understand that some people might just like her earlier singing better, as it is a matter of taste. But let me end with what I keep saying, which is that in my non-expert opinion, Angelina is the finest classical jazz singer in the world today.

Chris... I think she is singing this song to herself in my opinion.... consoling herself due to the personal hardships she's going through. She may be actually crying in this song or close to it.... but even though it's melancholy, she is singing about what's good in this world and with hope for the future. When you listen to this song from this perspective, it makes perfect sense.... she is singing this directly from her heart and soul... "When I think to myself,".....too me she is singing this song in the most personal way.... to herself.

Hello Chris. Thank you for reacting to this utterly beautiful performance. Sure, she was wonderful at age 12, but she has now reached stratospheric levels of control of her entire arsenal of vocal skills, and her voice has achieved even greater heights of beauty, complexity and richness. Her mastery of her vibrato has rarely been more stunningly displayed: not too much, not too little, just perfect. This beautiful song has been covered by innumerable great artists, but this is the version that touches me the most, and that I would want to listen to over and over again. With respect to Sara, it really isn’t our business but, because of our deep love for the entire family, I think that it is understandable that we are concerned about their well being, and along with Angels everywhere, I pray with all my heart that she will be okay.

Ok. The world needs Angelina. Hee gift is making us feel the story. Period. But! She has vocal skills that are rare! She doesn’t need any instruments. One or two? Great. She’s a gift. Her phrasing and details she puts in every word make the message profound. You simply “get it.” Unreal. Born to sing and I’m not saying she’s the best. She’s unique. I prefer her voice to many others because she makes me feel it.

Chris, as you said, there are some fans that think she "peaked" around 12 yo, but I think they prefer the artistic choices she was making then, over the artistic choices she is making today. But when it comes to her vocal ability, I'm with you, she continues to get better & better every year, IMO.

Based on comments I know that a lot of her fans want her to stay in jazz but from very early on she has shown that she has interest in more than just jazz. She needs to do what makes her happy and that seems to be different genres and also her own music which is very important to her. She will always have that jazz styling in her voice.

Another thing to consider is that if she wants to expand her audience and try to attract younger fans, unfortunately 12 or younger Angelina may not be enough. Some older fans have said that they’ve tried to get younger people interested in her for 4 years but the older songs she was doing may not interest most younger people.Her own music will be what will most likely need to be what does it

Nice reaction Chris! I too thought this song is pretty short, but when I checked the other versions, especially Louis Armstrong's version, it's only 2 minutes 18 seconds. So, I guess it is the entire song. We just enjoy herself singing so much that we just don't want the song to end! This was well put together. Angelina and Toby are doing great work!

We can always count on you, chris, to stay on top of what Angelina is up to and sharing what she's sharing for those of us who might not be able to keep our hands on the pulse of the Angelina journey. I think this is her best version of this song. People that say that she's topped out at 12 yrs, and realizing that Angelina has turned into a woman and her register is now lower, plus she's probably playing around with different things as she has done over the years, just enjoying what she's able to do which is practically everything. I have not been fortunate enough to see her live but for me, at least until I do, these little one-song bits where she's performing with Egil or Ivan, and also the garage performances are my favorite things from her.

The difference is remarkable, and makes me wonder who is really listening to AJ's recordings before they are released. I'm with most of the people here I generally like her music. But I hate to say what I see recently with her tick tock stuff I'm increasingly uncomfortable by the image that she's pursuing she's not even 19 yet. To me she looks way older maybe 25 28-years-old. Maybe it's a faze but, two sides to the coin professional performances some personal stuff for all to see.
