Fun fact: the song was written and recorded first in 2022, and her vocals we hear on this are from that orignal recording, when she was still 16. Toby Gad confirmed this in the premiere chat of the lyrics video.

This video was the first simple video made by Toby for the release of the song. It was shot in the hills of LA. A little later a little more elaborate video was released with Angelina out in the desert.

Thanks for this wonderful reaction. This was done in different versions. Favorites are the version on Toby gads channel from the concert in Glendale. Even more stunning is the jazzy version on Toby Gad's piano diaries album. The link thumbnail is in black and white. Happy holidays.

I assume a patron paid for this reaction and have to wonder why they chose this version. Angelina has at least 6 versions of this with the latest two her new official videos. While you get the same vocals in one and a similar red car the videography is far better. The jazzy version is extremely good and the video is also shot at the same location in the desert. Personally I would have chosen one of the live versions she did with Toby Gad as Angelina is always great live. Nice reaction thanks.

I think she should and does sing in the style/s she wants, that make her happy. She can sing anything and if her only goal was numbers she probably wouldn't enjoy it as much. People want her to blow up and she should with that voice, but success to her and success to everyone else may be different. She may be happier in a 1000 seat theater than a 30,000 arena. Doing what you want, when you want, and the style you want is pretty successful in my book. Her voice will take care of the rest;)

This was one of 8 songs she co-wrote & recorded with Toby Gad 2 years ago when she was 16. Apparently Republic Records didn't want to include any of the songs on her "Old Enough" EP which upset both Angelina & Toby. Recently, they decided to release this song through Toby's Kite Records label. This video was recently filmed for this music video using the audio track from 2 years ago. There was some negative feedback from fans about this video not being professionally done, so they re-filmed the Official Music Video professionally in the California desert & it is much better than this, but with the same original audio track. This is the poppy, radio ready, produced version that seems to appeal to the younger fans. Since Angelina likes to take songs & totally re-interpret them in a different style of the original, she decided to do it to her own song. So, she & Toby did a stripped down (piano & strings), jazzy version that transforms it into a different song with the same lyrics. Most of her fans, including me, prefer the jazzy version & I think you will too. She recorded the audio recently at 18, so her vocals are more mature in it. If you prefer a simpler Angelina, she and Toby also recently did a stripped down jazzy version of this song. Just Angelina with Toby on piano and some strings. It’s a totally different vibe. This was released by Kite records, the label of Toby Gad and not RR. RR didn't release any of her this year. They leave her alone 😕 nit more their favorite artist. We are still waiting for a complete LP She's erased from their artist list 😢

This is the Mulholland version. The live 'preview' version is in the nightclub. Currently on her official site are the official video and the jazzy "Piano Diaries" version. This is the song Toby and Angelina believe is her break through (sorry abt your wishes), it's just not happening yet. She could go country but that's certainly not where her current fan base is. And, should that be where she catches on, her heart would most assuredly not be in it. If you haven't yet, go back and check out one of her covers of "Crazy".

What you said about looking to Angelina for the music and not the “entertainment” is the truth. So many young pop singers prance around on the stage in lingerie with back up dancers and flashing lights. A lot of the time they are using a backing track so the audience may not even know if the artist is actually singing or just lip syncing. The thing is that a lot of the audience probably doesn’t care. It’s all about the flash and entertainment. Angelina is not that type of performer. She usually dresses in a gown. No back up dancers. No backing track. Her singing is always live. The proof is that there will be an occasional line flub or off note but what the audience is experiencing is a real show not a slick music video.

At Angelina's Christmas concert on December 14, she opened the show with her pop version of "Bad Valentine". Later in the show, she sang her jazzy version and got more applause for it. We wish we knew if Angelina wants to be highly popular or create music that she wants. Of course accomplishing both would be best, but history has shown, jazz artists are no where near as popular as pop artists.

She has other versions that imo are better and fit more of your preference for stripped down. Check out either of two "jazzy" versions that are more in her jazz/soul wheelhouse. If you want the one with a ton of attitude watch the first version they put out which was a live version with Toby. Those first notes grab you like a pitbull with a chew toy.
