Thanks for your genuine reaction. I believe Angelina held back on her power because of the solemnity of the occasion. The softness helped convey deep emotion. Angelina inspires me to do what I can to help make the world a better place, so I am asking all angels and others to spread the story of Narges Mohammadi. Angelina just performed at the Nobel Peace prize ceremony in Oslo Norway. She paid tribute to Narges, who is currently on a hunger strike while imprisoned in Iran, for being an activist for women's rights. Her two twin children, who are 17, spoke on her behalf at this event. The more people who are aware and call for change, the more likely the leaders of Iran will set her free. Acts of kindness, is what Angelina always reminds us to do. We angels, need to honor Angelina by doing what we can to be kind to others. The smallest acts of kindness can make a difference.

What a fascinating and intimate interpretation of this mithical song, absolutely suitable for the occasion of the tribute to Narges Mohammadi! I was moved to see and hear Angelina singing in such an incredibly mature and charming way, this wonderful version of a fantastic song and so appropriate to the occasion, 8 years after the last time, in the same studios and with some of the musicians who accompanied her as a child, when she took her first steps into her musical future. Here Angelina was simply fantastic and "unchained", a singer who has already sung on 2 different occasions at the Nobel Prizes and at just 17 years old.💛🧡❤

Yes this version is more restrained, due to the more solemn nature of the tribute to Narges who is currently imprisoned in Iran. Her two children were in the audience. Angelina always seems to know exactly what the song requires, no matter what environment she is in.

Thanks for your reaction :) Angelina's performance was contained as you say out of respect for the occasion and Peace Prize laureate, Narges Mohammadi, an Iranian woman who is in prison for fighting for women's rights in her country. Also her twin daughter and son and her husband were present at the performance. All the emotion and care she transmitted in the song were just sublime and so appropriate. She transformed the song almost to a prayer for Narges to be "unchained", freed. Also, just so you know, her grandmother Mery is Iranian.

There are no words that can fairly describe how beautiful this was, nor to describe the elegantly lovely a young lady that is Angelina and this amazing performance. Lord knows I try. Narges Mohammadi was this years' recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize. Narges, is currently on a hunger strike while imprisoned in Iran, for being an activist for women's rights. Her two children spoke on her behalf at this event. Most of the performers were in fact Iranian. We know Angelina's grandmother, Mery Zamani, grew up in Iran and was a prodigy for painting and poetry. We can imagine the conversations Mery had with Angelina about Narges. This performance had to be extremely meaningful to Angelina and her family. I hope all the angels will spread the story of Narges and her mission, with the hope for change, and most especially, her release. Thank you, Mireia, for showcasing Angelina.

Using the 'breathy', 'whisper-like' releases she learned from Billie Holiday, and accompanied by a masterful orchestra, Angelina gives us the most emotion laden, penetration of the human soul with this rendition that is humanly possible. I'm sure if Bobby Hadfield has heard it in the 'far beyond', he would have shed a tear as I did. The impetus for it is, of course, a brave woman who is languishing in an Iranian jail for simply spouting the truth. It is fitting that she was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for 2023 and our prayers go out to Narges Mohammandi for a quick release by the Iranian Government.

The only thing wrong with this performance is they didn’t give Angelina enough time to sing the complete song. If you notice, she didn’t sing the complete 2nd verse, leaving out “And time goes by so slowly…” before singing “I need your love…”. Still, it was a magnificent performance by this goddess of music of one of the most beautiful songs ever written!
