The baby and very little girl are Angelina's cousins - the preteen girl is Angelina's sister Juliette and the Piano Player is Rob Christie Director of the Republic Records Los Angeles Studio which is the record label that Angelina has been signed with since she was 14 years old.

Thanks! I was wondering who they were; if this were the first video I'd seen of hers I probably would have thought they were trying to show a progression of her age. But since we've all seen her young, we know that's not the case.

You probably saw Mery Zamani in the opening credits as a producer, That is Angelina's maternal grandmother. The piano player is Rob Christie a manager at Republic Records. The guitar is the same kind that Elvis used. He also wore a black leather jump suit. Rob wore a red jumpsuit similar to the ones that Elvis' band members used.

The guy on piano is Rob Christie, he is great as a pianist and arranger. This fabulous piano arrangement is his and the vocal arrangement is Angelina's. You've probably heard that he's a Grammy winner - but that has nothing to do with his piano skills as many people believe. Rather, he is a four-time nominee and two-time Grammy winner as a producer. Rob was with Columbia Records as a producer and A&R person for 16 years (working with all the greats including Sinatra), after which he ran his own A&R company until joining Republic Records, of which he is now the LA studio director. Rob is extremely well connected in the music industry. Being Angelina's A&R person is an immense advantage and cannot be overestimated. Just which top-class, multi-Grammy-winning musicians followed his last-minute call to perform at Angelina's spontaneous and now legendary 2021 Christmas concert speaks volumes. And the reason he probably won't win another Grammy is the fact that he's now a voting member of the Recording Academy (NARAS).

The video is a tribute to Elvis. Her leather outfit, the guitar, the red suit on the pianist Rob Christie, the Priscilla beehive hairdo, even her vocals have an Elvis ring to them in places. She tells the story in the song that is congruent with the dark message. The story and the music always informs how Angelina performs a song. The setting is an antique shop she has used a number of times, I don't know why.

Dad, thanks for your reaction. Great fun to try to learn all the ways Angelina paid tribute to Elvis in this video. Angelina also makes us think of what was intended by each item or action. She enters the store (this shop has been in a few of her music videos), invites us to take a seat (uncovering the chair) and take a look back or at ourselves (uncovering the mirror) and let me entertain you (uncovering the piano). The beehive hairdo, like Priscilla, who she has become friends with. Wearing the black leather suit and playing the red guitar, just like Elvis on his 1968 comeback special. Angelina's two young cousins and her younger sister, representing Angelina growing up, as she always wore plain white dresses. Oh, I haven't mentioned her voice and her arrangement. As always, I get lost in the story she sings to me. Angelina is my all time favorite musical artist.

Her sister Juliette was the older girl and the 2 younger girls are her Uncle Mike's kids, Aires and Athena. 2- time Grammy winner Rob Christie is on piano once again. He is also the music director of Republic Records, the music company she is signed with and has taken Angelina under his wing. The beehive hairstyle was to honor Priscilla Presley and the time period she met Elvis. The black suit and red guitar was a classic look for Elvis from his comeback concert. Angelina (16) nailed this one from the start. The antique shop just pulled you into the classic/vintage Elvis song and gave it a feel of Graceland. Shaking the dust off of vintage music, black leather jump suit, red guitar-believe it is actually Rob Christie’s-and Priscilla Presley’s Beehive hair style, all relates back to the 1968 comeback special. Her two cousins and her sister Juliette show how important family is and her growth. The symbolism throughout the song was awesome. Love how Angelina cradled the guitar with her hip! Rob Christie is a Grammy winning producer and the director of studio operations at Republic Records, Angelina’s record label. He has accompanied her on piano since her signing with Republic Records. She has been a professional for many years. See her studio version of I have nothing-she knocks it out of the park again! Thanks a lot for another very good reaction to Angelina 🙂 Yes, her voice has definitely evolved and matured from when she was 9, as you'd expect. And despite the fact that she has continually been singing, there is no knowing HOW the voice is going to sound when you get older. But ofc, delivery and musical choices will still be an artist's choice, and I have to say that Angelina really excels in those areas as well, and she always HAS been, from the very beginning. On top of that you have her beautiful, rich voice, with which she can do pretty much anything she wants. As far as the arrangement in this one goes, I think it is pretty much a 180 compared to the "original" by Elvis, as Angelina both starts and ends the song with its bridge, as well as slowing the tempo WAY down (an Angelina trademark). The pianist is Rob Christie, the artistic director of her LA division of Republic Records. And as you said, I believe he is a 2 time Grammy winner, in addition to having been nominated for several more. I guess people in the comments have mentioned her tributes in the video, from her clothes, her hairdo(the beehive), the Hagstrom guitar she uses and Rob's red suit. All these things, except for the hairdo obviously, are paying direct tribute to Elvis' 1968 comeback concert. VERY tastefully done. As far as in which order you choose to react to her, it doesn't really matter to me. Feel free to skip around as you want. If and when you do a reaction to the song that popped up in the thumbnail in the end there (I Have Noting by Whitney Houston) I would actually prefer if you could react to her live, outdoor performance of the song from when she was the exact same age as in this one (16,5). It is a recording from June 23rd 2022, on a vastly popular music program here in Norway, called "Allsang På Grenesen" (Singalong At The Border). I'll try to add a link in a reply to this post, in case the link gets removed as spam or something. If you do that one, keep in mind that what you hear is her 2nd performance of it back to back, due to technical difficulties (heavy wind) during the first take. The producers pulled her closer to the main stage and gave her a little over a minute before she had to do it all over again. Another thing is that the performance was the first she did since she competed on America's Got Talent in 2019, when she was 13. We all know what happened in 2020, and the pandemic put a halt to pretty much everything. Angelina flew in from LA the same morning as the show, and just blew it out of the water. No visible nerves after almost 3 years, just pure elegance and beauty. (Add the fact that the song is one of the most demanding to sing ever written, and you will understand my hype.) As you keep reacting to her (hopefully) you will come to see that her live performances are EXTREMELY good, in my opinion often better than the ones in a studio, like this one. Another video I would really like you to react to her is her studio recording of Adele's "Easy On Me" from when she was 15, again accompanied on piano by Rob Christie. IMO that performance really showcases her range and abilities as a singer. it's one of the songs I choose when introducing new people to her, to make sure to attract their attention 🙂 Enough rambling I guess ; have a great rest of the weekend and a great week ahead. Love and respect from Norway ♥♥♥♥♥

As for what should be next, I think jumping around is a good idea, given the huge mountain of material that has accumulated over the ten years of Angelina's stage career so far. I really like the term “older” Angelina because I have a favorite performance each of the “younger” and “older” Angelina. If you're into raw performances with just guitar, then 2017/2018 is the right place for you - there's a lot (most famously: Stay, The first time ever I saw your face, A Million Years ago). But two of the must-see concerts (with an extended jazz band and then a wind orchestra) also took place during 2017/18 (=11yo/12yo). Here are the playlists of the relevant concert recordings: 2017 summer concert tour stage at Proysenfestival ("Lovin' you" is most famous, along with "Cry me a river" (jazz band version) and "Diamonds are forever). kzbin.info/www/bejne/j2W6gZWjn8yInZY 2018 "It's Magic" album release concert (most famous: "It's a man' world", and "Crazy" or "Mr. Lonely" is an interesting contrast - not to mention "Cry me a river" (orchestral version)). kzbin.info/www/bejne/gqetnGqjl92Eeac
