You're right, Sylas is confirmed Vampire. When he and Delilah passed in front of a mirror on the way back to their room, only Delilah had a reflection. That's also why Vax withdrew the question: when he asked if he would turn into a vampire, Vex pointed out that Vax had a reflection.

For Keyleth not being able to return home before she proves herself as “worthy”, she’s talking about completing her Aramente. She comes from 1 of 4 elemental tribes called Ashari (her being from the air tribe). The aramente is a set of trials where someone who shows signs of ability to become the next leader of her tribe must go on to prove their worthiness to become the leader (in her case, to become the next Voice of the Tempest aka leader of the air ashari). She must visit the other 3 tribes and complete their challenges so she can return home and claim her title. It’s not that her family is shunning her, but that she has been tasked with the Aramente because she was chosen to become the next VoT if that makes sense

Glad you're continuing with LoVM! Just to super duper confirm, Sylas is the vampire, Delilah's DnD class is wizard (specifically a necromancer). turning someone into a vampire needs more than the bite, including dying. Keyleth's Aramente is something like Avatar The Last Airbender - like the benders, the Ashari have air, earth, water and fire. The Ashari for each element have tribe leaders, who each must undergo the Aramente (it's _very_ possible for someone to die during their Aramente) - Keyleth is undergoing hers so she can lead the Air Ashari. Kinda helps that Aang was a direct influence on her character.

The thing about Grog is, he is sadly a very low intelligence character (in D&D intelligence is usually rated from 1 to 20 and Grog is roughly a 6). That being said, one could argue that at least in Grog's case, it can sometimes be a weird blessing. Sure, he doesn't understand a lot of stuff but much like a child, Grog often has a very direct kind of clarity about situations. He tends to be the one that spots the simplest solutions that more complicated minds are often too quick to dismiss or overlook entirely in favor of more complicated plans. He's also the least pretentious person you'll ever meet, and despite his propensity for violence he's arguably the easiest person to make friends with in the group.

7:00 Spoiler free explanation. Keyleth was chosen to be the next future leader of the Air Ashari. As tradition, prospective leaders leave their village and travel to their sister tribes to gain their leaders' approval (Earth, Fire, and Water Ashari tribes). At these villages she would also be given challenging trials to test her worth. By travelling BS levels of distance between the 4 tribes scattered across 3 different continent, she is expected to gain the competence and wisdom necessary to be a leader. At some point she has to start harassing her group to go on a road trip.

Some fun facts about the show 1. As many have mentioned Ashley Johnson had to be absent a lot for the games due to a job working on blind spot, in the show in one of the episodes they indirectly reference the show when Ashley's character says something along the lines of "I play a gnome cleric for my party" 2. The reason why Percy's hair turned white was due to stress. 3. Keyleths aramente is a cultural journey, it isn't a vague "prove your worth" she has places to go and goals to achieve once there 4. Vox Machinas relationship with the council of taldore is very different from in the game, as in the game Vox Machina had done several favors for members of the council. There is a theory called Marie Antoinette Syndrome (MA Syndrome) in which scalp hair can turn white from fear, shock, or stress. Percy and his sister Cassandra were painfully tortured for long durations with various tools and methods. This is also seen in other media like the anime Tokyo Ghoul, or Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.

It was named after Marie Antionette who's hair supposedly turned white during her imprisonment during the French Revolution. Common themes between those reported to have had it include unexpected traumatic and/or life-threatening events (ie house fires, accidents, or the sudden death of a loved one)...like, say, Percy as a character experienced?

Grog has an Intelligence of 6 (meaning -2 on all smarts), but he has a Wisdom of 15 (meaning +2 on all sense). So he's not the brightest or most aware, but he can recognise he can find simple solutions to problems that can honestly be more effective than complex ones.

A little backstory on Keyleth: She's the daughter of one of the druid leaders of the Air Ashari and she has to perform an 'Ara mente' (means Noble Odyssey) where she travels to the other major elemental druidic tribes to meet them and gain their respect, all to prove herself worthy of succeeding her father as head of the air ashari. If you are curious about what keyleth needs to do to prove herself worthy, I don't think this is a spoiler since it was a part of her backstory and I'm not sure how much of the specifics they are keeping for the animated show. But just in case... In the D&D campaign at least, her tribe is split into 4 parts for the four elements, and to be the leader of one of those parts you need to travel to each of the other 3.

I wouldn't say folks like the character now more than before... It's just that the community showed affection towards Keyleth and Marisha because CR community is very strongly against hate But if you watch the beginning of the first campaign... Keyleth is hard to tolerate sometimes, they don't know the rules but she never settles with the DM rulings and begs for what she asks to work, has somewhat of a main character complex... Not to say the hate was deserved AT ALL, just to make myself clear, however the hate was a disproportional response to her inexperience but it was not completely out of the blue You can see how she improved as a player over the campaigns, in C3 literally everyone loves her. But that's Marisha being better at DnD 5e in general, it doesn't necessarily have to do with the character
