i think there’s a lot of unseen beauty in imperfectness, i don’t like auto tune because it completely destroys the pure emotion from the voice. i think a lot of people are hard on him for his voice and choose not to see coolness of it. all around i love this band live.

all people do is complain about him not wanting to play shows anymore then when he does all they do is talk about how much he sucks, id probably wanna quit playing too. It's not fun to go out play when you know you don't sound good. You don't feel good after. I don't blame him for not wanting to do it anymore.

His biggest issue is that he tries too god damn hard now. People largely loved him when he was just doing his best and nothing more. Now he’s *trying* to look and sound like something he’s not. I think with the new AvA album he’s coming out with he finally figured that out a bit. I hope.

I love everybody that always bashes him. Does anybody actually sound good live. honestly no. yes some might sound better but no one sounds perfect live. all in all in the end its about the music he makes. and he makes it better then anyone. look where he's at in society compared to most bands and us. he beat us and them its the truth :]

Ive seen blink and AVA live, and Tom didn't sound this bad at either show, he doesn't sound this bad in every video either. Ultimately I don't think he completely sucks, he's just extremely inconsistent for whatever reason...

I love AVA and Tom as much as anyone but I get tired of reading people making excuses for him on like every video... "he has a cold" "oh he must be drunk" "he was depressed"... Let's just face it: he's a TERRIBLE live singer. Even 15 years ago in blink he wasn't great and he's even worse now. He's a very good guitar player and talented songwriter. In the studio his voice can be managed in a way that comes off well but in a live performance, he's just not good. It's not one performance. It's nearly every one. So yeah, maybe he was "depressed" but it had nothing to do with his lousy singing.

The band's sound engineer Jeff "Critter" Newell died just some days before this show and Tom is probably also very drunk so I think the combination of those two things made his voice terrible. He sings great live now though.
