What I appreciate about Swedenborg is his kind, honest, respectful good nature as an excellent reveler, teacher, scholar and disciple. There is a beauty that he is able to countenance. This concept of the "divine man" was also imparted by The Secret Doctrine ( Besant/Blavasky) but in their relationship to the understanding these qualities are lacking. Swedenborg has an enriching nature, these other teachers no so much.

Always excellent videos. Whereas heaven functions like a healthy body with all organs, tissues and cells working together to nourish and maintain a whole, hell doesn't function at all. Hell is made up of chaos with every part working only for itself at the expense of all other parts; thus, hell has an atmosphere of constant dysfunction.
@offTheLeftEye Жыл бұрын
I daresay that dysfunction is rampant, Carolyn, though Swedenborg says it is carefully ordered and balanced by the Lord to maintain the all-important spiritual equilibrium for human beings. It has levels opposite to the "spiritual" and "heavenly" levels of heaven, and it has quarters (N/S/E/W) where each inhabitant lives depending on their own personal "setting" of evil and falsity. In one place, Swedenborg writes: "To God the totality of heaven is like one human being. On the other hand, hell is like one giant monster." So it seems to me that while it's not pretty, there is SOME kind of order there, guarded by the Lord and the angels. Thoughts?
@carolynnorton9552 Жыл бұрын
@@offTheLeftEye It would be logical to assume that, if a cosmos functions in a certain ordered fashion, order must be imposed by a superior consciousness on what can easily turn into rampant, out-of-control chaos. The channeling I have read mention a madhouse in hell. That has to be controlled within reasonable boundaries or the incessant turmoil would not allow any soul to reach a modicum of repentance. Somewhere in "Heaven and Hell," I read that angels torture the souls in hell. Did I read that right? I gave my copy away to someone interested in Swedenborg and can't look it up again. Thanks.
@offTheLeftEye Жыл бұрын
@@carolynnorton9552 No, angels never torture people in hell. People in hell torture each other, or feel tortured by their own inner turmoil. Angels do what they can to minimize the suffering and conflict, which does involve allowing the spiritual law of "what you put out comes back at you" to operate so that the violent, chaotic behavior will stop when it gets beyond a certain point. You may be remembering that evil spirits in hell can feel tortured by the presence of an angel, but that is their own reaction to the atmosphere of heavenly love, not any action on the angel's part. I really resonate with your first paragraph. Yes, God has many ways to keep the turmoil from getting so bad that no one can improve at all!

Hi Curtis and Karin - this one is especially deep and full of how to think and act like angels in heaven. I have watched this show a few times because I really want to get this 'secret'. You in this one and Jonathan in his Bible study teach that to have heaven within us we need to think and intend and do as the angels in heaven think, intend and do. We aren't going to one of the heavens nor have heaven within us until we do this. So I am very happy you gave us this information!! And I am going to watch this one again and again until I am pretty sure I am adjusting and changing and compelling my spirit/self to adapt this way of seeing everyone - from the inside out - and from intending the most possible happiness of everyone - and to act from those intentions. Blessings to all every day!!❤

To us here it is about dimensional awareness. Angels take higher information to the lower levels and transliterate the information for each lower level. A 3d conscousness can understand 2d but a 2d mind will find it hard to understand 3d. If you stand infront of a building, you see a plane. If you pull back, you can see the building in 3d. In 4d you will see inside the building and all around it. So it is your awareness or point of view. Time would allow you to see the building by travelling around the building. This is why you have memory. You see segments of reality which you piece together. The human mind was a view point which collected information and passed it back to heaven. The information was also stored in Adamas. The human mind would then grow collectively. Angels have to think together and show what they see about God. This allows them to see God in a higher dimension. Billions of points of view shared. The individual cannot join these groups of thought until they are willing to let go of self for oneness. It would be one individual water atom going against the atlanic ocean. When God opens up a mind to the truth, it is gradual so that the mind is absorbed. If it is forced open, the truth overwhelms the thought of the mind and instantly all its false knowledge is eradicated and replaced with truth. The individual disappears. Those that refused God often seem to be swolled up by the earth. Again they disappear from our view point or awareness and fall down to a lower level. All of this is why we percieve time. The higher the awareness the quicker the understanding. God is all in oneness so time is not required. HE is.

Great question, Keith. My first thought is that angels can only try to INFLUENCE us, they can't actually MAKE us do anything. It's up to us to WANT to choose kindness, love, compassion -- they can't just tap us with a magic wand and MAKE us that way. And the first step in being good and kind, says Swedenborg, is to STOP being "bad" and cruel -- so let's all start there!

Os bonequinhos (figuras de plástico), que simbolizam os anjos dos três (3) Céus, eles também estão em três cores. Verde, azul e amarelo (green, blue and yellow). É A FIGURA DO "HOMEM MÁXIMO". É AINDA INTERESSANTE O FATO DE QUE SE SOMARMOS AS CORES AZUL E AMARELO, VAMOS OBTER O VERDE. O VERDE SERIA ENTÃO O HOMEM NO MUNDO NATURAL, MAS QUE DENTRO DELE ESTARIAM OS ANJOS DO CÉU AMARELO (3° CÉU) E OS ANJOS DO CÉU AZUL (O 2° CÉU), OU SEJA, O AMOR E A SABEDORIA DENTRO DO HOMEM NATURAL, QUE POR SER VERDE, AINDA PRECISA "AMADURECER". Hold a door for someone, let them into the line of traffic, bring in their trash cans. Something like that may be more than you can imagine right now, though, I understand that. Evil spirits prey on our vulnerabilities. They work to get us to believe lies that will make us feel anxious and depressed and hopeless. The more you get wise to their tactics, and the more you practice refusing to believe their false messages, the less power they will have on you. It is a long and gradual process, but things can get better over time. Here's an article by someone who found a way out of severe depression using Swedenborgian concepts: "There Is Always a Blue Sky" swedenborg.com/there-is-always-blue-sky/ And here are a number of videos sharing how Curtis came to realize the tactics of negative forces affecting his mind, and ways to gradually break free of that. Hi, whalhard! For us, the word "holy" means anything coming from God's love and wisdom, as in these quote from one of Swedenborg's books: "Anything [genuinely] good is described as holy because it partakes of love and charity, which come from the Lord alone." (Secrets of Heaven 2190) "Holy truth is holy because of its origin in goodness. There is no such thing as holy truth except for the truth that comes from goodness. We can speak all manner of truth from the Word and so from memory, but unless love (love for our fellow humans) is what brings it to our lips, it can by no means be described as holy. If love and charity are indeed the qualities that bring it forward, on the other hand, we then acknowledge and believe what we are saying, and so it comes from the heart." (Secrets of Heaven 724)

The mission of our channel, GAETANC, is to get Swedenborg into the global conversation, because he hasn't been. Sure -- there are lots of enlightened people, but we're here to share Swedenborg's perspective. He claims to have been instructed by God and seen into the spiritual world, gaining new ideas on the nature of God, the nature of our minds, the nature of life after death, the nature of the Bible. Swedenborg was the first to admit that people would find it all very hard to swallow. But some find that these ideas make a difference in their life that leads to good. It's an individual choice whether one welcomes these ideas with open arms. We are born animal but become human what do you have to say about that ??
@offTheLeftEye Жыл бұрын
Hmmm, Michael. I guess I wouldn't put it in quite such black and white terms. I might say that one way to define "being human" is: having the CAPACITY to grow and develop spiritually. So even in an infant, who is operating mostly according to animal instincts, that CAPACITY is still there -- though as yet undeveloped. But yes -- as we grow spiritually, grow in rationality and wisdom and love, we DO become more and more human. A few thoughts, which I don't claim to be "the answer"!

@@TheCubeMusic Here is a passage from True Christianity 335 that I enjoy. It describes how animals act from instinct. "Ponder, then, whether a spider that is weaving a web with the utmost skill is thinking in its tiny head, 'I am going to lay out threads in this sequence and then stabilize them with perpendicular threads so that my web doesn't fall apart when the air shakes it violently. At the outermost ends of threads that run in to the center I will fashion a seat for myself. There I will sense if anything comes in and will hurry to the center. For example, if a fly flies in and gets caught, I will quickly go in and wrap it up and it will become my food. ' "Does a bee think in its tiny head, 'I am going to fly away. I know where the fields are that have flowers in them. There I will extract wax from some flowers and honey from others. With the wax I will build adjacent cells one after the other, laid out in such a way that my colleagues and I can easily get in and out on passageways. Later we will put lots of honey away in the cells so that there will be enough to prevent our death over the coming winter?' Not to mention other miraculous behaviors that not only emulate human political and economic prudence but even outdo it in some respects [see above]. [4] "Again, does a hornet think in its tiny head, 'My colleagues and I will build a little home out of thin paper. We will curve its inside walls into a labyrinth and fashion the heart of it into a gathering place with a way in and a way out so cleverly designed that no other living thing that is not part of our clan will be able to find the way to the center where we are gathered?' "Again, is a silkworm during its caterpillar phase thinking in its tiny head, 'Now is the time for me to get ready to spin silk. My goal is that when I have finished spinning silk I will fly off, and in the air - a place I have never been able to reach before - I will play with my friends and ensure that I will have offspring?' The same with other caterpillars that crawl along walls and then become chrysalises, pupas, nymphs, and finally butterflies. Does a fly ever have an idea about breeding with another fly, that the breeding should take place here and not over there?" The point is that animals are born with the knowledge they need, which is a gift and also a limitation. People are born with very few instincts, which gives them the capacity to learn a great deal. Thanks for asking Michael.

Swedenborg says those smells are generated as a correspondence of the evils that people in hell love, FAF. It's the festering of unhelpful and unkind choices. You have to study Swedenborg in order to see how much sense he makes. And that is why so many intelligent people like Robert Frost, William Blake, Carl Jung, and Emmanuel Kant thought well of Swedenborg and entertained the possibility that he might be absolutely correct.

To those who read his books and understand the core of his teachings, like me and every other Swedenborgian / New Church member, everything he revealed about life, the afterlife, the Bible and God is correct. There isn't any evidence that anything Swedenborg has ever written was invented or created by his imagination, there is sufficient proof of that but at the end it's all matter of faith as any other beliefs in our lives. You have to seek yourself what he taught and feel if it those things makes sense in you heart. 😉
