Abide with me एक ऐसा भजन है,जो किसी धर्म या जाति से संबंधित नहीं है। यह भजन उन सभी लोगों के लिए है जो किसी भी प्रकार से भगवान, अल्लाह , परमेश्वर या God पर विश्वास रखता हो। ऐसा लगता है आज के बाद अब किसी प्रकार का कोई ईश्वर भारत में है ही नहीं, सब नास्तिक हो गये है। गणतंत्र दिवस के है बीटिंग रिट्रीट में यह भजन पिछले 70 सालों से बजाया जाता था तो अनायास ही दिल में भक्ति जाग जाती थी। अब जब शाम ढल चुकी है, अंधेरा होने वाला है और सांस रूकने वाली है, तो ईश्वर से प्रार्थना है कि जिस किसी नै इस भजन को हटाने का आदेश दिया है, परमेश्वर तू उसके।इस अन्तिम घड़ी में उसके साथ रहना।
