Costco has no control they’re actually having some local company come out and basically rip you off. Got a quote about a month ago and the pushy sales rep pissed me off. Wish I can get my hands on the softener and install myself.

Yikes, Im sorry you had that experience with that sales rep. I hope they are not located here in Chicago or Southeast Florida because those would be our employees and they have never been trained to talk to a customer like that. You can reach out to the company owner and see if you can get anywhere with them.. most of the owners I have met that are partnered with Costco and Ecowater are dedicated to doing a great job. In my business sometimes I have had employees who needed extra help and this kind of comment can help get them there. Good luck and if you need any other help contact me!

Former 10 year RainSoft salesman switching to eco water. Rainsoft was great but you are correct, they moved to china. I was proud to sell American. So I made the jump to Eco. Your video was awesome! Subscribing! Look

I’ve been shopping the professional companies and there is one comparison I can’t figure out. Culligan, Rainsoft and Kinetico have separate filter tanks with catalytic carbon that provides longer lifespan. Ecowater appears to have only a small potion of carbon on top of the resin bed. It looks like the ERRC3702 has a 34,000 gallon effective life on the carbon. Wouldn’t that need to be replaced? What am I missing? FYI, I’m in TX and use about 13,000 gallons of treated water per month.

Biggest thing you’re missing is EcoWater has a LIFETIME media warranty. Basically, if the carbon and resin needs replaced on that unit EcoWater pays for it instead of you. Culligan, Rainsoft and Kinetico won’t offer you that!

Everyone should know anytime you buy a product for your home and it requires a "consultation" it is no different then visiting a proctologist. Both consultations will end with something in your rear end.

Great video and true. I've worked for Costco for 30 years, and I can tell you from the inside it is Very important for them to do things right, which is where their Code of Ethics comes in and was surprised you knew their first two. It is Never Costco's intention to gouge anyone. That's just not how they operate. They want to be a premier company you can trust and rely on so they don't become the next Sears or JC Penny. The warehouses are often visited by high-level executives to assure it is run properly, and they will let you know if there is something they're not happy with. Ask me how I know. lol. Great video

Hi megan, there is just not an Eco water dealer close to the Costco you are visiting. You may try to reach out to Costco direct or costco.com and fill out the request form, there they should be able to tell you if their is a dealer who could come out and service you.

I had an ECOWater softener in my last home that lasted 29 years with one bedding media replacement and two valve repairs. I was able to purchase and install it myself back then but had it serviced by an ECOWater dealer when needed. Fast forward to today and my recently purchased home where I had the local ECOWater dealer stop out and give me a quote for replacing the out of service softener that came with the house. The lowest cost ECOWater unit was $1700 dollars which was out of my budget range so I spent $700 on a high end Whirlpool unit that I installed myself. Just couldn't justify the extra cost for the ECOWater unit.

So, on these "lifetime warranted" systems, how often does the carbon media get replaced, and do they do it each time for free??? Because activated carbon is a consumable material that wears down little by little as the chlorine and other chemicals are adsorbed (yes with a D) onto it. The brine solution does not wash it out of the carbon, it only gets rinsed away when the surface of the carbon gets scuffed off from the tumbling motion in the flush cycle. The carbon will not last forever.

I just had them come out last week. They were in the range between five and eight thousand to install a water softening system its some gimmick about they’re gonna give you $5000 worth of soap and blah blah blah blah blah and all this baloney 5000 and $8000 depending on what package they only offer one model 3700 unit you can’t get any of the other models it’s a joke. Costco has no control over the pricing of the private contractor to supply the install and the equipment. It’s a joke. I could pay your company to come to my residence in Missouri stay at a hotel three nights install all the equipment and it would probably still be cheaper than the company that was working with Costco so how do I get in touch with you to do something like that and give me an estimate I’m in Ava Missouri. For $5000 I could replace my wash machine my dishwasher and my hot water heater twice in 10 years for potentially what they’re asking to install the system so what’s the purpose of it to save a little detergent just use less detergent .

You get what you pay for is all I have to say. I am a research person and the water treatment company that has been a partner of Costco's, Home Depot's, and Lowe's for over 13yrs in my area (Central California) is Eco Water and man talk about a vetted company. The numbers make sense when you take the time to learn about what your misinforming ppl. Ppl aren't stupid, I trust that ppl have kept them in partnership with the biggest home improvement names out there for a reason. Good luck whichever way you go. Our tap water is killing us, do a water report on your tap ppl ... chlorine, bleach, arsenic, barium, CHROMIUM 6....tumors, cancers, and so much more Im not gna scare you all by listing.

One detail you mentioned 10 year warranties being a big deal, but the other side of that is it seems 8-10 years is the general consensus on when you’re going to need a new tank anyway. So buying something like an aquasure water softener that is gonna go out in 8 years wether it’s got a 8 or 10 year warranty or not what’s the difference

I am not familiar with halo. Ecowater is one of the largest manufacturers in the world. They are owned by Warren Buffett and are a professional grade system. We never had success with Marlo.

I’m not sure which filter you were speaking in regards to and I’m not sure how much plumbing is involved to install the filter into your home. A whole home water filter system around $6000 seems about right, but if you want to provide me the model numbe and any plumbing information I can be more specific. Also, plumber labor in Chicago is a lot more expensive than plumber labor in Arkansas. So I do need to get your location as well.

John I agree. The distributor said they cannot sue. Only if they hired a company in China. No they dont have that kind of resource. Remember the distributor or OEM has no desire to spend thousands of dollars chasing the Chinese.

I had a very bad customer service experience with them. I trusted costco's name and wanted to instal eco water but the rep who came had so much arrogance and it was such a bad experience I would never go with Eco water
