Chronic musculoskeletal pain is now a leading cause of disability worldwide, with the disability burden predicted to grow exponentially in the next 2 decades, placing unsustainable strain on health systems. More than 100 million adults in the United States have chronic pain conditions, costing more than $500 billion annually in medical care and lost productivity. They are the most common reason for seeking health care, for disability and addiction, and the highest driver of health care costs. Myofascial pain is the most common condition causing chronic pain and can be diagnosed through identifying clinical characteristics and muscle palpation. Management is focused on integrating patient training in changing lifestyle risk factors with evidence-based treatment. Understanding the cause, diagnosis, and management of myopain conditions will help prevent the impact of chronic pain.

We need change in the USA healthcare system. The number 1 problem is that it is too expensive. Problem number 2 is the corruption and manipulation of Insurance companies. Problem number 3 is the chemicals in food. We need 2x as many doctors as we have. Why in the hell does an anesthesiologist make as much as a surgeon? Insurance companies control hospitals and their billing departments, and we need to detach health insurance from employment. This is a serious fck you to entrepreneurs. Sadly, the majority of American voters got exactly the healthcare system they voted for, when they chose to elect politicians staunchly opposed to universal healthcare. The problems of US healthcare are systemic, and UnitedHealthcare is just one of many symptoms of this. America chose a system designed to maximize profits off of sickness and death, then has the audacity to act surprised & outraged when companies do exactly that. You can refuse to hear it all you want, but there are strong, well-understood reasons why no other nation on earth wants the healthcare system of the US.

These are the reasons as to why we need more genetic variation in society. Everyone’s quick to blame the healthcare system but how many people get screened for preexisting conditions or check the probability of genetic markers that could contribute to disorders, cancer etc… so much heart break could be prevented.
@Ashleyefrati2 күн бұрын
I think people need to start taking more accountability for the children they produce. No one single country could provide quality care for society’s disabled children for life, it’s just not feasible, the only help we can give is preventative. It can be in the form of free testing or a free neonatal care if you get tested. I understand having children with the person you love, but if it’s going to come at the cost of their quality of life, or be a burden to other people or to a whole system, why not get preemptive testing done? And by no means am I saying the children and adults who are with us now we should be ashamed to have, or wish harm upon, or any additional pain to them or their families but I’m imploringly us to do better as a society. Get tested and work with a geneticist, if you’re planning on having children, at least read up on genetics, read up on environmental influences. So much heartbreak could be prevented with just a little knowledge of science.
