I was lucky enough to see Angie in Nashville at the Exit/In (one of the many great sound rooms, like the Basement), and he was INCREDIBLE !!! It was just him, a bassist and a drummer. It was in the mid 2000's and his voice was so powerful... just like his lyrics. Simply blew me away!

I used to go see Angie play in Charlotte and Charleston in the late 90s and 00s. He is simply the best singer/songwriter I’ve ever heard. His Album “The American” is still one of my favorite albums. I hope to see him again someday.

Ditto! I'm from Statesboro, GA and used to run up to Charleston to watch Angie back in college (1999-2002). Might've caught you in Savannah too, Angie - can't remember. Awesome times listening to beautiful, soulful music from a genuine artist.

When I was younger, some dude from a chat room who I don't remember anything about, sent me a burned CD with this song in it. 20 years later, I spent a full hour looking for it with only a vague memory of what it even was. It's beautiful.

I'm a metalhead by trade but one night, late, I saw Angie on a Willie Nelson tribute and I was f'n mindblown. Fast forward to seeing him live in Birmingham, AL about 14,15 years ago and it's one of my top 5 shows of all time..(I've seen hundreds btw).. So excited to see him next month in Decatur..

always liked you cover more than the original

It sounds like his IS the original if you listen to his story. Clive Davis stole it from him and had Faith Hill record it.
