Is the penn slammer 8500 not to small for shark fishing

Hi there. In South Africa we cast our baits for sharks. The 8500 to 9500 is the average size reel we use. The guys who drone baits out often use bigger reels to get more line capacity. We land sharks up to 300kg comfortably on the 8500 size reel loaded with 80 to 100Lb braid
