That was cool. Never ridden in '50's or '60's cars. Used to go by a classic car consignment shop years ago. Happened to be looking around one day while the shop attendant was arranging the cars one day. He fired up one of the beast. 💨Dugga da Dugga da Dugga da 😲Like a big ol kid, "Can I ride wit ya?" 😮"Sure." 🤤 Climbed in🤪. Only exited the garage, 1/4 block, turned right and into a showroom but I enjoyed all 26 seconds of the ride. 💪👍🚗

You’re supposed to keep your foot planted when you’re running through the gears. To each his own I suppose. On the plus side, you won’t have to replace the clutch, or driveline components as frequently.
@finallyitsed21916 жыл бұрын
I *used to* have a T5 where I always planted the right foot. The optimal words are "used to." I just installed a TKO600, but fully intend to keep that right foot planted , so I hope this one holds up! BTW, it will buy you a good 2 seconds.
@finallyitsed21916 жыл бұрын
You want to talk about someone not knowing what they are talking about? That would have to be you Matthew Fogarty. You know absolutely nothing about me, what I know, who I am, or anything else for that matter. I will tell you, on the other hand, what I know about you. You are an arrogant, rude, jerk. You write as though you are some sort of authority on this subject, which you may or may not be, but you felt some need to interject your ignorant sarcasm to show everyone how clever you are in comparison. It actually showed quite the opposite. How about this, instead of going around on KZbin spouting this garbage, you might want to reflect on what is causing you to use this method to make yourself feel better. I doubt that is working either.
@finallyitsed21916 жыл бұрын
Ok Matthew, I think I see where you are coming from and believe that I can now appreciate your “swift and harsh response” to my relatively pleasant comment on someone else’s video. You called it as you saw it, "drivel.” I also noted where you said, “I can read people real good so sue me!!” See? I can relate. Now, with my weakness and naivety aside, I would like to clarify a few things that we may both be on the same page. I’m not a kid. I won’t tell you my age because you’ll just tell me it’s time to take my Geritol and go to bed, but I think maybe you could appreciate what my “drivel” was based upon with a little more information; I designed and with my brother, built a state of the art 1/4 mile NHRA sanctioned facility that hosted NHRA Divisional events amongst hundreds of other events. This was with direct coordination with Wally Parks, NHRA President, Lex Dudas, Southeastern Division Director, and Bill Holt, NHRA’s Division 2 Manager for Gainesville, Florida, not to mention the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, other jurisdictional departments, and many others. Under construction, we did have general contractors, but I also was on a bulldozer or scraper, laying pipe in a ditch, driving piles, surveying, and doing whatever needed to be done to make sure this came to fruition. I have been involved in drag racing since around 1965. I say “around” so you still don’t have enough information to tell me to go to bed. No BS as you’d say, I have probably built more engines than you have teeth in your head. I’m really not an ignorant herb. And, for the record, I schooled numerous new racers during test and tune nights on how to get their cars ready for tech inspection, how to stage, how to gauge the lights, and how to shift and drive to get more out of their cars. And yes, believe it or not, many of them picked up at least two seconds when someone helped them hone their racing interests. Your uncle was right, you were just wrong on this one. Hey, we all make mistakes. That's ok too. I’m hanging loose for the rest of the night on your recommendation.

Another one who doesn’t know how to drag race with a 4 speed. Never lift off the gas just stand on it and stomp on the clutch while shifting. You might have to steer to the left a little while shifting to keep the car straight. Oh, almost forgot, don’t miss a shift or you’ll break parts. That’s the only way to have fun with a 4 speed at the track.
