I am from Africa and I was just wondering the same thing, this animal belongs in the wild and it needs major range or expansive territory. It needs to walk out of the river into the bushveld (savanah) in search of food. Maybe a pride of lions would attack it and it flees back to the river. It tramples one or two Nile crocs along the way....that - is its life!!

It’s inhumane to keep a wild animal in conditions like this. If I had to listen to screaming people and children all day, I’d go bonkers too. Poor guy.
