I say stop this circus. Allow people through for a set time 1 hour morning 1 hour afternoon. Walk through the arches and then shut the front gates. The police should stand next to the guards at all times to deter those idiots who would have been better visiting the fairground.

Never mess with Corporal of Horse, they have earned the right to shout and be loud! Also getting in the way of a mounted horse never ends well for the idiots that get in the way. They maybe a tourist attraction, never forget that they are serving soldiers/troopers on duty and your not funny and yes that pose you think is original is likely the 100th time that hour they have seen it. Stand back, watch and take photos but show some respect and listen to commands, in truth it’s for your safety!

If only people understood the historical uses of war horses as offensive weapons maybe they would be less nonchalant about their own behavior. I believe this could be more controlled if an entry fee could be charged and only visits for hour for a maximum of 50 tourists, all monies to the Guards fund. There could be strict protected areas around the guards and horses. This is a popular attraction because it costs nothing to visit Charges could help welcome more genuinely interested visitors and less idiots who delight in ridiculing the Royal guards and taunting horses. I've never seen the COH so angry.

I am fairly certain many of the tourists are my fellow countrymen, who, as Americans would be outraged if others treated our soldiers with the disrespect they themselves often show toward these British soldiers and their gallant mounts. I’ve never traveled to Great Britain, but I would so love to. I have the utmost respect and admiration for these Guardsmen. They take so much pride in their service. It’s a shame they must put up with so much from so many tourists who have no idea how to behave.

To be fair this is really the only place that allows you to touch the horses in the military. Most other places would have foot guards and believe me you do not want to touch them! I do also think an entry fee and a simple walk through, no stopping no photos. Buy a postcard or simply take a photo as you pass no posing and taking ages and be quiet.

Someone said what job ate the soldiers do sitting on horse orse standing in various spots. They are guarding the kings building. They srand or sit upon a horse for an hour. The guards standing need to move about hence them doing just that. The horse men can't, they have to sit for that hour managing their horse all the while some horses get stressed with the amount of people. How would they like it if people started to pat stroke pull onthe reins etc not nice for the horse or the guardsman trying to control him. Tourists should respect them also the signs tget are put up. Alot think its a joke well its not and shame on those who behave so badly especially the foreign tourists. That would never be tolorated in their country.

I am 77 my Mum took me to see this often as we lived in London. Also Trooping the Colour. I took my son who was born in 1967 never was there a problem that i was aware of. I remember going as a child to the Changing of the Gurads. Everyone was well behaved, no-one watched the world through his smartphone and most of all : the policemen were unarmed and smartly turned out. Not the scruffy and unkempt looking specimen, complete with baseball cap we see today.

Why is this chaos Still happening? Is the MOD waiting on an incident such as what happened at Buckingham Palace in the 1960s which then caused the change to have the soldiers behind the fencing for changing the guard/sentry duty. Also in 2014 further changes were made at Clarence house, St James etc for the safety of the guards.
